A privately owned bar and kitchen, situated in Inverness town centre opposite The Castle. We offer a selection of local ales, wines, spirits, draft beers and lagers. Emphasis is on fresh home cooked food with a difference and all our dishes are prepared to
There's a lot going on here as it was a Saturday night and we had booked before. A mix between stylish bar and mid-priced restaurant with maybe a wider menu selection than others. We had attentive service and good dinners served with a smile. The draught beer selection was broad enough and we appreciated the high standard of brew. The walls are decorated Vettriano prints and the tech lighting affords a good atmosphere. Sadly, we did not spot "The singing butler" print, but many others perhaps less well-known were conspicuous. Rightly an appreciating asset !HiThanks for the great review, glad you spotted many of the touches around the restaurant that usually go unnoticed!

A Friendly Highland Welcome Awaits You at R&B's. R&B's is a Family run Restaurant & Bar in the city centre of Inverness, with a great range of dishes including Gluten free and Vegetarians options. We offer a wide range of drinks both alcholic and non-alco
For our trip to Inverness, we arrived around 2 PM, and we walked around the center of town looking for a place for lunch. It seemed that most places were very empty, which wasnât reassuring that it was a place to stop into. We passed the R&B a couple times. It was empty, except for the people working there. This was not reassuring, we stopped in anyways, as a TripAdvisor showed it as a 4+ star location. It was around 3 PM in the afternoon, not the optimum time for folks to be stopping in for lunch or even for an early dinner. We ordered a couple drinks and a couple sides / small entrées. All of our food and beverages were served very promptly, the food was very good. I do not recall exactly what I had, but recall that it was a good snack. They had a good selection of local beers, and a great choice of spirits behind on the bar. Donât be scared away be the velvet purple & blue finish on the seats, etc. it must be a night spot with a DJ, etc. Definitely worth stopping in at. Thanks, KM

After a wonderful day at Culloden and friving some of the North Coast, we searched best pub food in Inverness and the Waterfront appeared in the top 10. Both my adult children ordered fish and chips while I ordered the beef and ale pie. Overall the food was extremely bland. Little to no flavor. The waitress however took the cake. When I asked for black hot tea she asked me how I expected her to serve it, in a tall glass? Because this seemed to be a difficult order, I then asked for a Guinness instead. When my eldest asked for hot tea, she was most agreeable and obliging - brought a tea in a pot, no questions asked. During the meal she came to the table to inquire specifically about the quality of the 2 Fish & Chips, but treated me as if I didnât exist. At the end when she asked who was paying the check, I provided my bank card. When the receipt printed, she asked my children if one of them could please sign it. I had CLEARLY been the one who provided the card. She was rude and passive aggressive from the time I walked in and because of it - I would never return, nor would I recommend anyone to attend. Having made my wages as a server 35 years ago - I typically over tip. This was the first time in my life I chose to leave nothing, although my daughters placed a too generous tip on the plate for this most un-gracious individual, who probably doesnât even know what the acronym TIPS means. A dis-appointing ending to an otherwise glorious day. Should have gone to 27.

Went in here on a recommendation. Not the pleasantest of atmosphere and said theyd charge for soda water: very poor. They also dont take, and refused to take contactless payment under £5. Most do and dont charge for a glass of soda water on the side. I'm severe sight impaired: no help offered and couldn't hear the miserable man who served me, because of what passed as 'entertainment': some individual practically murdering every song with a voice that sounded dreadful. What a let down.hi I think this review is for the wrong establishment we definitely take contactless for anything. we don't have any singers at this site. Reported to TripAdvisor Thanks

To be honest - and fair - I kinda knew what to expect of Hootananny before we went in, and we werenât disappointed. Quite simply, this isnât a pub and the instruction from the waitress that âdrinks only are at the barâ left the strong inference that tables are primarily for diners. Again to be fair, I asked a lad behind the bar what the policy was re tables, and he basically said that drinkers could use them if there are no waiting diners. To be honest, I usually prefer to drink at the bar, but the complete lack of stools here confirmed the message that casual drinkers are not encouraged. Clearly, this is primarily a restaurant, and a âtouristâ restaurant at that. And when the live music comes on Iâm sure that many of those tourists will feel that they have had a good time in a traditional Scottish bar.And thatâs the bit that gets me. Hootananny is no more a traditional Scottish bar than a McDonalds with a music and drinks licence, and if newcomers to Inverness want to experience a genuine Scottish pub with music - I suggest that they go to Gellions Bar just round the corner on Bridge Street, because that is a real pub.

Went with my Wife and a friend. Booked pretty last minute at peak season and they duly accommodated us. The food is excellent and I recommend the mixed platter for two, very tasty and could feed 4. The two Duck curries were tender, crispy and tasty. Nice wines and beers on offer. For two courses, wine and drinks we were just over £80 which I felt was extremely reasonable. There is currently scaffolding outside the building, don't let that put you going into this little gem of a eatery. Thanks for the great review Hopefully the scaffold will be down in the next few months Hope to see you again soon

What a joy! Came here for lunch for my Mum's birthday and she (and I) were so uplifted by the warm welcome, the lovely waiter who guided us through the menu and gave us great recommendations -- with his cheeky smile and humour, and the wonderful food. You do Inverness proud. Centrally located, just along from the popular Hootananny pub, this bar has an open plan style and a very large selection of their own and other beers. Not having tried any of their brews before I asked the barman for advice and once he had narrowed down the options he was happy to provide small tasters of three different ones for me to try. The pint I selected was very good. The crowd at the time of our visit was mostly male dominated and there were plenty of pizzas being delivered to the tables to soak up the beer however the atmosphere was pleasant enough and my wife felt quite comfortable having her G&T.Looks like it would be a good place for a drink and a blether... and a pizza if you're peckish.Hi there,Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I'm really pleased to hear that you enjoyed your visit to us. It's great to hear that you found the atmosphere to be so pleasant, and I'm happy that our bar staff managed to help you find a delicious pint.We hope that you will come back to visit us, and maybe try the pizzas too.All the best,Cat

After a long 30-hour day of travel, and evening arrival, our B&B host recommended Star Inn. Simply superb! Wife had very substantial Veggie Tart Salad. Never had something so good and unique. I had macaroni bake. Great portion size, all homemade, glorious on a cool night. Located about 7 miles from Inverness airport. Get off beaten path and try this pub/restaurant. Reasonable prices, great service and food! Located in town of Ardersier.

A fantastic venue for all occasions set within the beautiful town of Inverness. We cater for all parties and bookings. Be sure to sample our fantastic cocktail menu and excellent food range.
Popped in here last Sunday for some drinks and a bite to eat. Found the drinks to be really good value for money as there was an offer on. Everything was well presented and the restaurant/bar was nice and clean. Food was good and without a huge wait. We were served by Kierian who was friendly, professional and efficient (as were other members of staff including the other girls who greeted and sat us/served us drinks).
