Syltopped in for a spot of lunch, was really impressed. £4-5 for sandwich, toastie or panini, shared a toastie and panini with garlic seadoned fries. Pastrami sandwiches best i have ever eaten. Good selection of cakes, tray bakes, gins and wine. Friendly staff. They have got this place just right.

ROBERT STEWARTS SPIRIT GROCERS is located on a narrow country road that threads its way out of the leafy glades of south Belfast via the Upper Malone precinct. The road continues onwards in the general direction to the town of Lisburn which in recent year
Called in for lunch on Saturday which is not really unusual for us as regular visitors.Lunch was fab as always and great menu choice. Served by fast and efficient staff. Great place to meet up with friends in a quirky little pub with big atmosphere. Craic is mighty, as they say! What saddens me are reviews that don't describe the place and vibe too accurately. As grown up reviewers you would think that people could turn the other cheek if you have a personality clash with someone? I thought as you got older this was easier to do? But, obviously not for some.Hi Willash88 Sure it's nice to be nice and twice as nice to know how to be nice. That stated your observation re " reviews that don't describe a venue and vibe too accurately"-----is on the money. This as opposed to opinion on or about other homo sapiens-- who work in a premises but may not be on duty at the time of a visit of other patrons or indeed perhaps no longer employed at the premises is a "bum steer". Thank you for your input

The Tap Room is a unique venue for any event from Barbeques to Formal Dining. A working brewery with a Licensed Restaurant in a beautiful and historic georgian setting at Hilden House which is located in the village of Hilden just off the main Belfast/Lis
Wife & I were in the Lisburn area but wanted to avoid the usual town centre traffic, so for the first time picked the Tap Room for lunch. Started with a tasty selection of breads, olives & dips. Wife had steak & ale pie, and crisp pork belly for me. Both were well cooked and presented, and good value. Only downside was that I was driving and so couldnât sample the breweryâs craft beers. Upside of that is the excuse to pay a repeat visit, with the wife driving next time!

The steaks here are the best. Give their 12oz sirloin a try...they are massive! This is our 2nd visit in lizzie drakes and our meal was equally as beautiful as the 1st. Our steaks again were cooked to perfection, big portions and their pepper sauce is lovely. You definitely wonât leave feeling hungry. Canât wait til our next visit.

We visited today as a family of three for Sunday lunch, and as usual the food was fantastic. The staff are friendly and prompt, and we enjoyed sitting near a roaring open fire. We had the spicy chicken wings and the chicken liver pate to start, and roast dinners for main while my son went for the Jamaican Jerk chicken sandwich. My husband is a chef and was impressed by the roast dinners - proper gravy made from scratch, gorgeous creamy mash and nice presentation. Weâll definitely be back again soon!

Visited last night as party of a party of 7 girls. We arrived just before 7pm and had been able to book for the early menu specials. Amazing value. Food was absolutely delicious. The staff are more than attentive. One in particular Alan looked after the 7 of us. Was more than attentive kept checking in on us did we need anything more drinks, how did the food taste etc. Customer service exceptional. Will most definitely be returning and recommending to others. Food was really superb. Really went out of their way to make us feel really welcome. Food was really delicious. Well done indeed.

The Hillside is a charming, rustic pub situated in the historic Georgian village of Hillsborough, County Down, only 15 minutes drive from Belfast city centre. The Hillside first opened its doors to patrons in 1752 and has been enjoying a busy trade ever s
Having visited at Christmas for a function this seemed like a great restaurant to celebrate an engagement and birthday with family. What a bad choice. The evening was ruined by the combined efforts of the staff at the Hillside. 1. The waitress was simply incompetent:- Unable to count past 5 when she was taking the orders from a table of 7;- failed to clear the table of unused wine glasses or other empty glasses/bottles throughout the night;- debated how my wifeâs steak should be cooked - because she thought it was a steak sandwich;- brought chips when a house salad was ordered - because the chef couldnât read her writing, then didnât replace the chips with the missing salad;- spilled a bowl of tobacco onions then giggled, saying âits the thought that countsâ - after a steak was sent back for being improperly cooked she left the side order anyway before being told to take that back until the steak was ready;- left the bill with the guest whoâs birthday was being celebrated, causing some embarrassment as if they were expected to pay.2. The kitchen -- failed to cook any of the 3 steaks correctly. One of these was âmedium/rareâ was cooked âwell doneâ - so not even close to being right. The other 2 were over cooked and should have been returned but we were too generous thinking the meal would otherwise be good;- the Katsu curry (a Japanese meal) was bland, tasteless and served with a poppadom (an Indian side), which was soggy;- the hamburger was like a hockey puck - hard, over cooked and tasteless.3. The management:- were invisible. Not once did a manager come to ask how the meal was. Even after the waitress asked - and was told how unhappy we were, still no manager followed up;- the door to the courtyard was open, as it was a nice summers night, but that allowed wasps to come into the restaurant. We caught at least 3 wasps and released them, just to see them reappear. You donât need the risk of being stung when eating a meal INSIDE!- Despite this being so bad an evening the bill was presented in its entirety - no refund, no gesture of apology. Only after a complaint was made by me was some measure of remedial action taken. A refund of the value of the badly cooked steak was made. No attempt was made to improve the evening with any offer of (for example) free desserts/ coffee etc. This was so bad an evening that we left, with no desserts or coffee, and went to The Parsons Nose to finish the evening.Until the Hillside gets serious about its customer focus, and hires a chef who can cook a steak, we wonât be back.

The Plough Inn is a famous family owned pub boasting an excellent reputation for hospitality, atmosphere & wonderful food. In business for over 20 years the Plough offers a contrasting dining experience with award winning pub grub lunches & fantastic gour
I recently had dinner here with four friends in the upstairs Bistro. The service was good, the food was good and served in a timely fashion. Nice menu to choose from. Desserts are superb and generous portions. Pleasantly surprised as it gets mixed reviews. Downside: Booths are quite uncomfortable and it is quite expensive. £16.25 for a 6oz burger and chips, although it is good, this is expensive!
