Situated along the coast of San Pablo Bay, it is located in the eastern region of the San Francisco Bay Area, about 10 miles (16 km) north of Berkeley, California. As of 2010, its population was 24,060, according to the United States Census Bureau. The site of Hercules was first developed in 1881 as a manufacturing facility of the California Powder Works for the production of its patented dynamite formulation, Hercules powder. In 1882, the Hercules Powder Company was incorporated and assumed responsibility for the Hercules site. It was one of several explosive manufacturers that were active along the Pinole shoreline in the late 19th to the mid-20th century. The small company town that grew up near the facility subsequently became known as "Hercules", and was incorporated at the end of 1900. Starting in the 1970s, Hercules was heavily redeveloped as suburban bedroom community that lies along the I-80 corridor in Eastern Contra Costa County. It has a very ethnically diverse population.

Great place too go after work on a Thursday. They have music. The band is usually pretty good. Variety week to week. One of our favorite hangouts.

We really have enjoyed Applebee's in the past but had a very disappointing experience today, Monday. Three items that we ordered were not available: onion rings, sweet potato fries, French onion soup. We almost got up and left. Then, when we were presented with the bill on their tabletop computer, the waitress had inputted a tip of 20%. The customer should be the one designating the tip! The waitress was standing right over me trying to intimidate me into signing for the 20% tip. She succeeded.

Located in a new strip mall, La Lupita is very new and clean looking with interesting wall art. The staff is very friendly and solicitous. However, the food was not very good. (Maybe because it was a Sunday evening.) When evaluating Mexican food, the "gold standard" for my wife and myself is carnitas. My wife ordered the carnitas tacos and I ordered the carnitas super burrito. Unfortunately, the carnitas were dry and tasteless. Interestingly, on the wall were taped pieces of paper and a white board with East Indian food items listed. Apparently, there is an East Indian connection to this restaurant, but we could not find out due to the language issue. We will not return.
Have visited the tasting room twice now and have had noteworthy experiences both times. The setting is lovely with a great view of the San Pablo Bay and Mare Island. The price is right at $5 for a tasting of five or six wines and this is refunded with the purchase of one or more bottles. There is a certain charm in the somewhat unsophisticated, eclectic tasting room and we have always enjoyed interacting with the owners and other intrepid visitors who had managed to find this out of the way winery. In-season, the Thursday evening events complete with band and food trucks are great fun and visit-worthy.

We stumbled upon this place when we was visiting family. What a find! The food was incredible, the atmosphere is very modern and tasteful, it could be in any magazine. The Catalan pizza was awesome, as was the pear Romain salad and prawn cocktail. Definitely get the pork empanadas, delicious but hot. We finished off with the maple cheesecake which I wish I had right now. Good beer selection and full bar. We will definitely return. Also the service was some of the best weâve experienced in a long time.

Came here before dinner for some drinks and appetizers. Enjoyed everything we tried. They have some indoor and outdoor seating if you want to walk with your dog. They arent that big so they probably get pretty busy at dinner time. Service was speedy and friendly.

This is my second visit to this quaint restaurant with the fabulous view. The first time I had breakfast, that absolutely delicious...wanted to check out breakfast again but arrived too late. With the assistance of my waitstaff, settled on the Salmon sandwich...excellent choice! Finished it off with a glass of Navarro Pinot Noir 2015...Ambiance, food and staff Excellent!
