We recently stopped in for a late lunch and were able to take advantage of some Happy Hour drink specials. Several cocktails for $5 plus beer $3. While restaurant was not busy, the service was slow considering.We had a starter of fried calamari which came w/ 2 dipping sauces. For entrees we tried the honey chipolte tacos and the fish-n-chips. Overall, food was good but nothing remarkable. Pricey for lunch as the tab was about $50 for two people.Thank you for your feedback. I really want this place to succeed but the service just fails to meet expectations every time. Also, since new ownership took over the food is less than desirable. Overall it's really lacking in appeal, but the location is just too convenient for us to not stop in periodically. Lots of potential, just not a place I would come to if it wasn't right down the road.

The restaurant is more of Louisiana type of food. We went for lunch. They have lunch specials where you choose 2 for $10.99. I had catfish bites (they serve a lot) and a salad. They have club sandwiches, soups, salad, etc. The restaurant was spacious, bathrooms were clean, and plenty of free parking.

Nothing beats a great beer bar, but for the longest time, these establishments overflowing with craft beer options were difficult to find in my area of west Houston. Now, I have a couple places within minutes of my house and one that I like and still visit is Growler USA. Growler USA is part of a small but growing nationwide chain that opened this Katy, Texas branch not too long ago. Being a beer writer, I was anxious to check this place out and I was one of the first people to visit. I took one look at the long row of taps, 100 strong, and immediately fell in love. They serve a very wide variety of beer styles and continuously rotate so that you can always find something you like. To help keep things organized and help eliminate errors, Growler USA numbers all of its beers on the menu and on an electronic display above the bar. Tracking beer by number means less chance that the customer or the server will make a mistake and bring the wrong beer. And when you have this many choices, you need an efficient way to serve and the numbering system seems to work well. Besides the beer, Growler USA has you covered on the food end with a small menu of items that match well with beer. They serve several good- tasting appetizers like wings, hummus, and loaded tator tots, plus wraps, sandwiches, and a few desserts. I usually start off with an appetizer then order a wrap, making sure to keep filling my beer glass or flight sampler along the way. They have wine on tap, too.Growler USA is on the small side and it has an atmosphere that is like a sports bar. The interior can get crowded and noisy due to the size. They have outdoor seating, too, but itâs limited. The size is one thing I wish was different, but who knows what the future may bring? If they continue to enjoy success, they might move to a larger location in the future. Beer bars are my favorite places in the world and Growler USA has become a family fave due to its massive beer selection, tasty bar bites, and friendly service. If you love craft beer and live in the Houston area, you need to make it a point to visit this establishment, just to gaze in awe at the lengthy row of taps as you ponder your selection. Itâs a great addition to the Katy, TX area and one of my favorite hangouts.

What a great place here! Stopped in last Sunday afternoon for a few brews and some lunch. The bartender, Ian, was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Very knowledgeable on the the beer selections and styles. The beers were all properly served and fresh too. Many breweries and styles to choose from. Many of the selections are Texas local brews. We felt like we were hanging out with friends here after a few minutes! The menu is simple, not large, but we had a pretzel, pizza and a sandwich. All of the food was very good, and nice size portions. We even got a fresh bomber can of draft beer to take home. The beer and the food were all reasonably priced.Really looking forward to our next trip out here from Katy! The Growler Spot sits in the corner of a strip center (easy to miss), located just before you get into Fulshear, by the Dollar General.
