We visited Surfrider Cafe knowing that people raved about their tri-tip sandwich and avocado fries, but decided to ask out waiter Danny about his favorites. Danny not only made great recommendations, but provided friendly and prompt service. We started with the jalapeño poppers, that were perfectly cheesy with just enough spice. Our party ordered the following entrees: Gouda Vibration Burger (Dannyâs recommended favorite), the BBQ Pork Sandwich from the August menu (also recommended over the tri-tip) and the Shoreline sliders. All three were great, but the homemade sourdough buns and garlic parmesan fries really stood out! Also, the chimichurri sauce on the BBQ sandwich added a unique and flavorful touch. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and playing trivial pursuit during our meal, making for a great dinner while driving through Santa Cruz!
Oh my goodness! This place has amazing food!! The steak was ridiculously delicious and cheap!! I've been told the Mexican food is also fabulous. Apparently you must call ahead to order the steak meal. The atmosphere is very hole in the wall, biker bar feel, but everyone was friendly

They do NOT know how to cook fish. Their âsides â are white rice with no seasoning at all, and arugula âsaladâ which is arugula with pumpkin seed or something similar (I couldnât tell). I made them redo the Ono as it was totally dry. The second time was edible but barely. And Trip Advisorâs menu link has very wrong prices, again!! I will no longer use Trip Advisor for restaurants. This was the second restaurant in two days in Santa Cruz. And prior to this, I would ONLY use them.

West End is a neighborhood eatery which showcases the flavors of a traditional pub with a California twist; using local, fresh and seasonal foods. Our food is cooked to pair perfectly with one of many craft beers and wines. Our chef brings French cuisine
Was the UK staple ? How wrong was I ? They do amazing âslidersâ in here. The overall ambiance is an absolute pleasure.

Bruno's offers American cuisine for lunch and dinner and provides both onsite and offsite catering and banquet space for special events. Bruno's has a sports lounge upstairs, outdoor patio, banquet room, pool table, foosball, shuffleboard, corn hole and d
Bruno's offers an extensive menu and everything we have sampled has been well prepared and tasty. The location is not fancy, tucked behind a shopping mall and close to the movie theater (only movie in town:-)). the decor is relatively simple, no table cloths, and paper napkins, but the food is great, plentiful, and satisfying. Friendly excellent service.Thank you for the review!

This restaurant situated at the Hilton was a great experience. We were a group of 10 and ordered everything from crab cakes to spaghetti and meatballs. Really nice food and they are very attentive to you. My daughter said it was the best fries she has ever eaten. Must try the cheesecake if you eat there .

Had a solo meal there this evening, wanted to sit outdoors and Malone's has a very nice patio under an artfully pruned Douglas fir in Scott's Valley. I had arugula salad with prawns, and it was excellent, superbly dressed. Service was gracious and the martini chilled and dry as ordered.
Fun casual get away for a drink or two. We stopped in on a Friday and enjoyed the friendly staff, fun atmosphere & had a great time.

We visited The Cremer House, in the attractive mountain town of Felton, California. Where is Felton, CA? First think "Monterey Bay," ... the town on the North end of Monterey Bay is "Santa Cruz." Three roads lead from Santa Cruz to Felton, California. (a) Highway 9, winds up into the mountains, via River Street, to Felton. (b) Or you could take Graham Hill Road, from Santa Cruz to Felton (my favorite.) (c) Finally, you can head North on Highway 17, turning off at Mt. Hermon Road, then follow to Felton, CA.The Cremer House is located very close to the juncture of Highway 9 and Graham Hill Road. It looks like an older Felton store/home that's been converted into a lovely, rustic, country restaurant and alehouse (with 25 + craft beers). There is no dress code here, just come with a good appetite, and relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding of this small mountain town.We enjoyed a sandwich and one of the Mason jar drinks, (some offerings include "Revive Organic Raw Kombucha," "Alden's Radical Redwood Rootbeer," "Vanilla Lemonade," and Strawberry Rhubarb Soda, (and there are more!) I enjoyed the Roasted Turkey Sandwich, which included very thick bacon, avocado, sprouts, and loads of turkey, (I didn't eat much dinner that night!) Soup and Salad is also offered, fresh and delicious.Head up on a sunny day, enjoy the smell of Redwood trees, a steam train near by, (Roaring Camp), a covered bridge, and several beautiful creeks, and hiking to work off some of those lunch calories. Recommended! We enjoyed a lunch on the outdoor porch.

I'm not sure what has happened to Cowboy Bar and Grill. This used to be our go-to place for lunch and dinner. The past few times we have been there the service has been unfriendly and unwelcoming. One of the owners waited on us at our last visit. Her demeanor was borderline hostile. At the end of our visit she plopped the check down without saying a word. What triggered that response? The good is good here and the portions are generous. We're just not sure what has happened to their customer service. Friends of ours have stopped dining at Cowboy Bar and Grill due to the same treatment from their staff. How unfortunate!
