Came here last Sunday (14 July) for a Carvery after attending a wedding close by. We'd searched trip advisor in advance for local carveries, & after reading the positive reviews we chose here. We rang up the night before to book a table as their own website advised to book in advance. Parking was a bit of a nightmare, the car park is a funny shape with the parking bays sporadically layed out. I wasn't able to get a space so after some careful reversing & pulling forwards I got I managed to get back out of the car park & had to park on the main road. We were greeted with such a warm welcome by all the staff! Carvery itself was very good! Plenty of dishes! I particularly liked the stuffing balls, & swede mash. One of my favourites of a roast is cauliflower cheese, unfortunately I wasn't that taken with theirs. It tasted more like cauliflower in cream, no cheese taste to it. My friend surprised his wife with pudding after spotting it on the menu & thinking it would be fun to try - Asparagus ice cream! The three of us found this entertaining & all tried a bit! I didn't like it personally but they did. Overall a lovely pub & a very good value carvery!

Our Lounge is a home from home, offering delicious food and drinks, all day everyday!
Three of us had a lovely lunch today. We were looked after by good natured, friendly staff. The food was hot, it arrived quickly. It is not an elegant or fancy venue, itâs honest, tasty and well served. Be prepared to order at the bar. Two of us had burgers, the brioche rolls so much nicer than the usual pappy bread one. Our other guest had the buttermilk chicken with was a good size and super tender. The sweet potato fries were excellent. Puds were huge! Nice atmosphere with a mix of families, friends and couples all enjoying everything from coffee to alcoholic drinks to people like us having a meal. Loads of choice on the menu, paninis, salads, burgers, tapas, classic choices, an all day breakfast section. I did notice they had dedicated menus for vegans and gluten free. These were shown to us when we were seated. We were told that any allergies would be noted upon ordering. Although this didnât apply to us, reassuring that this is taken so seriously. Hi there! Thank you so much for your lovely comments. I am so happy to hear that you were well looked after, after all this is what we pride ourselves on! I'm glad that you enjoyed your food. Hope to see you again soon. Many thanks,Shaina

Sat outside at the front with a view of the river, while this is right beside the road, there wasn't much traffic and it was a lovely evening, too nice (and hot) to sit inside! There is a garden at the back and a campsite too. The range of drinks was good and the beer was excellent. Friendly staff and while we didn't eat, the menu looked good.

A 13th Century public house serving quality cask ales and fresh home cooked food daily. Set on the edge of the Cotstwolds in a country village, the pub itself oozes character with flagstone flooring, Cotswold stone and real log fires. Why not enjoy the re
This is an old fashioned pub where it seems the locals go. There is also a separate restaurant providing excellent food. There is the main menu or a specials board and have theme nights on certain nights. My husband and I settled for the thatched chicken covered in pesto, tomato and mozzarella with salad and chips, it was delicious, so much so that we booked for another night. There is an Italian night coming up on 9 August 2019 but you have to book.Hi,Many thanks for posting such a lovely review of your time with us at The Thatch. The Thatch does have a loyal âlocal followingâ and because of the historic nature of the pub, the great food and drinks and the friendly atmosphere, we also attract visitors from far and wide.We are so pleased that you enjoyed your meals - and that you booked a return visit! Our chefs do an amazing job producing top quality meals - and our Specials are always very popular. Our theme nights are extremely popular and very well attended so we always advise people to book ahead. We do our utmost to produce great food on the nights, and also create a themed ambience with decorations and music. We hope you enjoyed your second visit - I think you said you were going to have our âPie and Pintâ offer - and we hope to see you again soon. Many thanks,Jodie, Sue and the team

Proud to be serving great drinks & locally sourced food. Open from 9.30am. Fresh food served all day, every day; Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
I've been here a couple of times and the food has always been great quality and delicious. I had been put off on a previous visit because of one particular member of staff who was basically just rude. I'm so glad I returned again today with my husband for lunch. Thankfully a new member of staff, who although appeared to be training, was properly attentive and excellent at his job. Anyway, absolutely no complaints with anything and we will be returning again in the near future :)

We visited on my birthday earlier in the year as I love scouting out Donnington pubs. I was made to feel extremely unwelcome. Having waited patiently the best part of 5 minutes for the barmaid to cease idle chit chat with the locals at the bar, I noticed she whispered something under her breathe which was aimed in my direction. When she finally did acknowledge me, I asked if they were serving food to which she curtly replied âNoâ. As I left the bar, I heard an older couple enquire about food and I overheard the barmaid offer them a choice of sandwiches! If youâre under 50, donât expect anything less than a frosty reception and appalling manners!I am very sorry that you had this experience here. I have messaged you directly. I would like to offer you a meal. Again I am truly sorry and I have spoken to all staff members Jess
