We had a fabulously tasty meal here for my partners birthday on Monday evening. The service was excellent made even better by the lovely Steph who made us feel very welcome. My partner especially enjoyed the Hokey Pokey ( ice cream) lol.We are definitely returning on our next visit to the Boarders.

Great little country pub . Good selection of local beers and cracking food . Definitely worth a pop in if your passing .Seems to have gotten a few bad reviews from the same disgruntled person but in my view a bit unjust . Room 5 is lovely and clean . Faiths our wee family in just fine .Will be back

I know the title sounds unexciting but that's not what it means - pleasant in 'a pleasant change, a pleasant experience and a pleasant time'. No-one wants to hear the word 'nice'!! That really would be unfair to the Blackadder. Went with friends after a hectic weekend and very much an 'off the cuff/last minute' booking. The place is well presented (obviously had a makeover which has been well worth the investment) and the menu is exactly what you would expect - pub food and pub prices. No pretention to being anything else but don't let that stop you going! It's a varied menu, well presented, well served and our dished were, obviously, freshly cooked. Great service and relaxing after a busy weekend. All round, well worth another visit!

We visited this pub with our cocker spaniel on a Tuesday evening in a September. We arrived not long after evening opening time and the staff were very warm and welcoming. The food was slightly different to the normal food you might find in a village pub (e.g. I had a feta and spinach lasagne which was really tasty and filling and my wife and I shared cauliflower bombs to start which were fabulous). The bar accommodates dogs and there is a restaurant area for a more intimate (and dog free experience). The car park is relatively small but Paxton is a village where you should be able to find somewhere to park without too much trouble. There was a steady flow of customers throughout the evening but the staff were able to be attentive and accommodating during our visit. Would definitely recommend.
