The only pub in the country named The Queen's Oak. 400 years old & built on a Roman ruin. A proper English pub serving nice homemade British food and a range of beverages including cask conditioned real ales. There are plenty of picturesque walks nearby a
This was our second visit to the Queen's Oak, both of which were excellent. The location is very good, right in the countryside, the church close to, yet only just outside Finchampstead. It is a lovely country pub and restaurant, with 'character', well preserved in the recent renovation. It is well run by Paul and his team, The choice of food was wide, and well cooked and presented, and we enjoyed our time there very much. We shall go back before very long. I recommend it to anyone looking for a place to eat in the area which is a little bit different.Good evening David,Fantastic to hear how much you enjoyed your meal with us.This really is a beautiful part of the world; we also have some leaflets, with some circular walks, available in the bar area, so that you can explore this wonderful countryside even further. We hope to see you again soon.Paul, Tom and the Queens Oak Team

Built around 1480, The Thatched Tavern was originally a farmhouse with a croft (a small farm). There was also a Blacksmiths forge at the back of the building where the kitchen hatch is now, and a wood store at the end of the bar.During the reign of Queen

Good food. Decent beer. Pleasant ambience. Friendly service. Good value. All ingredients very high quality, including the vegetables (which often seem to let down a pub restaurant Sunday lunch).

Visited today with friends, my fiancée and my brother. Lovely that the whole place is completely dog friendly and we had our cocker spaniel puppy and our friends had their westie puppy with them. Food is well priced and very good quality. Our waitress, Devin, was really helpful and pleasant and provided a brilliant service.Very impressed with this place. When we are visiting our friends in the area we will be sure to return with our dogs in tow! Hey! Thank you for your kind review, we are so glad to hear you had such a nice time with your family and the puppies, your group was lovely and we will happily see you again soon! We will pass on your praise to Deven as I am sure she will appreciate it!Gareth and the team

We went on Saturday night. My husband had their signature lasagne, which comes with a pot of salad and a pot of delicious home made fat chips. My husband assured me it was excellent as usualI chose the Hoisin Duck salad. The amount of duck was very generous and it tasted delicious. My only issue is I donât like nuts (I am not allergic to them, just donât like them) and there was a generous handful of cashew nuts in the salad, which I hadnât expected. House wine- Merlot was excellent, as was service A very enjoyable meal. Iâm glad you enjoyed your meal sorry about the cashew nuts we could have a replaced it for one without them
