Although autumnal outside a great warmth and buzz welcomed you inside. Good interaction from the bar staff with plenty of choices; really popular with diners, with lamb shanks looking fantastic and pies being good. Entertainment started later with standing room only

First visit to the Smugglers Den Inn & we plumped for the roast beef after starters of deep fried Brie & soup of the day!The roast was plentiful, lots of beef served on a bed of cabbage, roast potatoes & a delicious puffy Yorkshire pud. Additional vegetables on the side, green beans, carrots & cauliflower were cooked well. There was too much gravy on the plate & it was a little thin. However, this is personal preference & if we visit again which I am certain we will then I would ask for the gravy to be in a jug on the side. The portions were large so we unfortunately couldnât fit in a dessert.Service was great & all the staff were welcoming & very helpful. Super dog friendly so our 7 month old puppy Elsa was able to join us which makes such a difference to our enjoyment.Look forward to returning in 2020

WAX Newquay is a brand new restaurant and cocktail bar located in the heart of Newquay. Located in a historic Lloyds bank this restaurant in a mix between modern stylings and the classic bank decor.
We came here on the 20th October for our wedding anniversary meal. After reading the reviews I thought 2 bad reviews, the rest brilliant - and it wasn't so big inside so we were expecting a more personal approach. This is not what we got. We ordered drinks and our meal at 7.02. The bar man said he would bring my cocktail over ASAP. 30 mins later still no cocktail!! My husband had finished half his drink! The barman looked busy so we assumed he was making the cocktail, no he went away from the bar and wiped tables!! We then said "excuse me, we are still waiting for a cocktail" he replied yes I know!!! He then came over with the cocktail which was mostly ice! The food - whilst that was quicker than the drinks HA - the burger I ordered was very rare. Almost still mooing! Then we noticed I was missing my onion rings - I didn't dare mention this as I thought I'd have a snappy reply. £41 - for a upscale Wetherspoons. We did enjoy the décor.

If you visit the seaside resort of Crantock, then a good place for a pint & some food is this inn. The staff there are very friendly, they have a good menu if you fancy some food & all can be purchased for a reasonable price.

Nestled above the cliffs of Pentire Headland, looking out across the mighty Atlantic, The Lewinnick Lodge has one of the best coastal views anywhere in the county. Serving classic brasserie-style dishes that echo the beach life on our doorstep. We are ope
Lovely spot and great views from the garden. Were offered a taste of offshore lager before buying .... all good ... until the service. We stood at the bar for a good few minute (not a busy bar at all) whilst three or four bar staff stood behind the bar chatting and all putting glasses away rather than anyone serving. We only got served when another customer got fed up of waiting and shouted them to be served and also sent them to us. Real shame as our parents were also staying close by and told us of the exact same experience theyâd had there putting them off visiting again.Hello Lynne P, thank you for your comments. It is unfortunate you had to wait to be served at the bar as this not up to the standard we set for ourselves at Lewinnick Lodge. I hope this experience does not put you off returning in the future.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal here. Tuesday night is pie night and my husband wasn't disappointed. His steak and ale pie was homemade and stuffed full with steak. I had a mushroom and halloumi ciabatta with salad which was awesome. The chips were recommended and didn't disappoint!! All the staff here are lovely and incredibly welcoming. You won't leave here hungry that's for sure!
