A hidden gem in the centre of Beverley, serving genuine home made food and a selection of Cask Marque accredited real ales and real cider.Just 5 minutes walk from the historic Beverley Minster, the pub has it's own car park & beer gardens at the rear.
Rang at 7.30pm on a Saturday night, hoping for a table for 6 but expecting the answer to be no but they could accomodate us.One had fish and chips and it was hanging over the edge of the plate, one had lasagne,2 had Cajun sweet potato roulade(vegan),i had 3 veggie sausages, with mash, peas, mixed veg and delicious thick gravy, one had a light bite.Food was excellent, tasty and plenty of it.My sweet was to die for....black cherry, choc. slice, devine.Another had a delicious salted, caramel, cheesecake.A tall female waiter served our food and was very friendly, patient, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The manager kept checking all was ok.We give you 100% spot on.Thank you so much.we will be back soon.

Wonderful country pub with great food & drink. Famous for giant Yorkshire Puddings with lots of amazing Fillings. Now also known for award winning Fresh Haddock & Chips. Great selection of cask ales on the bar with different guest ales every week. Friendl
Thought we would give it a try .they have tarted up the pub a little but quality of food has dropped . Service was ok and beers nice.Think the new owners have been here about 8 weeks and previously had the Blue Bell in Cottingham Will not be rushing back for food but will drop in for a beers sometimeDisappointingI hardly think it's been tarted up as you put it, the pub looks amazing now compared to the dowdy one we bought into. As for the quality of the food dropping I'm shocked as we now do around 500 covers a week compared to 50 or so before, think that might say something, but each to their opinionThanks

At The Blue Bell we welcome everyone to join us for a drink or two or a quiet romantic dinner or a dinner party. We offer a wide range of great food from a homemade soup or sandwich to a portion of our award winning fresh haddock & chips or a fillet steak
Having seen the photos in hull daily mail, we decided to go for a drink at the blue bell cottingham, found the photos to be totally misleading as the is a scruffy dirty place we not returnThank you for your review and we are sorry we did not exceed your expectations, steps have already put in place to rectify your complaint about the amount of weeds. Speaking to a lot of the locals and regulars to the Blue Bell they seem a bit surprised by your comments and have said that in the last 6 weeks of taking over the pub much has improved. It's a shame that as you have stated that you will not be returning you will not be able to see the improvements as they take place.Kind regardsPaul

We have been coming to Level since it changed years ago always love the food i always noted the clean glasses..went on sunday and ordered chicken breast which we have most of the time must have had it 20 plus times ..it was very disappointing the appearance wasnt great and most of all the red cabbage and bacon was not there ..we both ate it but did mention to the waitress how bland it was and noticeable that the red cabbage was missing . I know it is only something small but it has made a big difference ..such a shame wont be ordering again. Hello there, firstly i would like to say thank you for your custom for so long its always our pleasure, we are terribly sorry that you feel disappointed with our new and improved chicken breast dish, we did used to serve it with red cabbage but our customer feedback from a lot of customers said it did not match with the dish very well so when we launched our new menu we decided to use seasonal vegetables instead of red cabbage and have received so many compliments.however please do visit again and im sure our team can help you choose a dish more suited to your palate, we look forward to seeing you again.

The food was fairly nice and tasty and we chose from the buffet menu. You choose 3 dishes to start and once you have eaten these, you can order 2 more, then 1 more etc.BUT...once you have eaten the first 3, you're too full to eat anything else! The dishes are bulked up with way too much potato and you cant re-order until you have eaten it all.Doubt we will return.Dear Laura, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you have enjoyed our first round of tapas. As you might have seen there are 29 tapas on our £15.95 AYCE menu out of which only 6 dishes have/come with potatoes so there are 23 dishes which you most likely have missed out on.Also our Mega saver menu with £12.95 offers you with 20 dishes to choose from. Only 5 dishes with potatoes and 15 to choose from if you don't want to get full too quick. So it seems to us as though you couldn't resist the deliciously mouth watering patatas con queso brava(potatoes with melted cheese and spicy tomato sauce) or patatas con alioli(potatoes with home made garlic mayonnaise). And you ate it all and could not order more but then blame to the fact that you aren't allowed to order more.It is a all you can eat and not as much as u can order and then most of which ends up in the bin, we do not encourage food waste.Every dish has detailed description on it to say what it comes with or what ingredients we put in. So it was entirely up to you if you wanted to start with light tapas such as brochetas de pollo and then give potatoes a try. Rather then getting full in the first round and not being able to order more, then pouring your frustration on here and miss guiding the readers. However, we do hope to see you soon as it wont be fair to not return just because you was full of the first three tapas and could not order more.RegardsMANAGER

My wife has been saying that we should dine in the Duke since itâs refurbishment, and last night we did. I wonât be repeating the exercise.Maybe because it was the day after a bank holiday, but it was very quiet. Maybe the âchefâ was off because of this too.So the menu is standard pub grub, but at slightly non-standard prices; my Hunters Chicken rang the bell at just shy of a tenner. I got a very overcooked chicken breast sliced in two, sandwiches in a rasher of bacon and a bit of âorange cheese, so chips and an undressed salad. No sauciness to the chicken at all. I asked for some olive oil to put on the salad, and the very pleasant waitress brought some salad dressing, which was well needed to help the bone dry chicken go down. However, the coup de grace was the cutlery. The fork was so flimsy that I couldnât use it to hold the chicken in place whilst I attempted to cut the meat, without it being bent away. So a tenner for a meal that was practically inedible for two reasons: 1. The food was terrible and, 2. The cutlery was an insufficient match for the food.I did mention this to the waitress, who was lovely and apologised. She gets the place the second âstarâ. I do not discount that the place was suffering a hangover from what I presume was a busy bank holiday, but it was the poorest meal Iâve had in quite a while. I like the Duke for a drink, and I will be sticking to liquid refreshment there in the future.

Great British pub serving our famous fish and chips, steak and grills, currys and many more tasty dishes Our bar is geared up for all your sporting events with 5 TVs and a big screen We have 10 letting rooms which are ideal for contractors.
Pop in every couple of weeks and called in midweek for a meal, three mains ordered, came quickly and enjoyed. Ordered three deserts, jam sponge, treacle sponge and the passion fruit cheesecake off the specials board. Cheesecake came out first and soon as the wife dug in with her spoon it was evident that it was frozen. When the other two deserts came out we politely told the waitress of the problem, she apologised and removed the cheesecake only to bring it back moments later with the answer "he says that's how it comes".Cheesecake should not be served frozen so was very disappointed. They are freezer to table desserts for convenience, the girl was right. Everyone who has had them lives them. But Clearly they are not for everyone.Glad you enjoyed everything else, but because of a dessert that wasnât to your taste you only think we deserve a 3.

Been here on numerous occasions food has always been very good. Usual pub type menu but home cooked fresh food not the usual microwave rubbish. Mains and deserts are all good value great choice of beers and ciders. They have diffrrent beers in the bar to the lounge so check both sides. Would recommend nice village pub friendly locals.

Visited in a party of 107 out of 10 meals were inedibleScampi rock hard, jacket potatoes overcooked in a microwave, no butter, peas inedible, steak very poor quality.all in all...will never eat there again.did complain and sent lots back, but more or less told the chef takes no notice..I use the term chef loosely.the prices have gone up here,we all used to go for family celebrations, but no more, plenty of other places that the food and service will be better.Thank you for letting us know about your recent visit to our pub, and I'm really sorry that we've not been able to give you a great experience. This isn't our usual standard and your feedback will be taken on board. If you would like to discuss further, please donât hesitate to contact me on 01482843848.

Recently visited this cafe and it was actually perfect. The service was impeccable and they made us feel welcome. The coffee was great and plentiful. However the food, oh my, the food was incredible for such a small establishment. The menu and its items were put together carefully and brilliantly and was perfectly cooked. We have already planned to come back another day later in the evening for the live music and a few drinks. An absolute gem of a cafe and perfect hosts.
