Set it the picturesque village of Biddestone ,this traditional village local is overlooking the beautiful green and duck pond. The pub itself is very quirky , with old features that have never been touched. The White Horse featured heavily in Sky 1's Agat
We had a lovely welcome from the landlady and the young waiter and waitress were very efficient. They had run out of roast dinner but provided me with chicken, cheaper and salad. The chicken was so tasty, loved it, the skin was crisp and yummy. My wife had the mushroom risotto when I do not usually like. However I had a taste and the flavours blew me away.If I have to moan, please do not water down sauces, but in the grand scheme of things, itâs not a buggy.

WELCOME TO THE HARP & CROWN A BEAUTIFUL PUB, WITH SUPERB 'HOME' MADE FOOD, GREAT ALES, WINES AND CIDERS AND ALL SERVED IN A FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER The beautiful village of Gastard sits in the countryside four miles outside of Chippenham. Despite
Lovely real fire but no chance of feeling it as family of pub hogging it. Asked for a cappacino to be snapped at that there is no coffee at the moment......hmm looked lovely but looks can be deceiving!Had the following response via Facebook Kirstie, I am very confused by your comments, I was here in the pub, when you called in, and unfortunately we were unable to make a coffee, as our new espresso machine had just been installed, but not yet working, and the hot water dispenser, and old coffee machine had not been reinstalled. I believe you all enjoyed a drink, and I hope that they were acceptable, as the beer is considered by all the regulars, as being fresh, and well kept.. I am terribly sorry if you felt that you were snapped at, but I do not believe that that was the case. You called in when the pub is normally closed, between 3 and 5:30PM, and I am sorry that I was not able to engage with your party, as I was busy taking down a marquee on the garden... I am not exactly who it was that was "hogging" the fire, but you could have noticed that the fire place is open on two sides, and the snug area was warm and toasty and free of hogs at the time of your visit. I do believe that the pub is lovely and welcoming, and if you were to visit again during business hours, you would not be deceived, or disappointed. To which I respondedIf you were closed then why did you serve Us?The girl behind the bar hardly interacted with my husband, there was a woman sitting at the table next to the fire having soup with no shoes on (landlady?) and the man who was snappy sat with her speaking to another man and overheard him say I'm knackered. No we did not enjoy our drink as the beer was not tasty and and the atmosphere was not welcoming. Like I have pointed out, if the pub was closed then don't serve people. Holidaying in area and not impressed with this pub at all.

After being closed for over a year The Pear Tree Inn has been carefully restored as a farmhouse kitchen with bar & rooms. It has a relaxed & rustic appeal to the locally sourced menu & reclaimed quirky decor. An old stone build farmhouse with rug strewn f
We went to The Pear Tree Inn recently for two nights this time. Food and rooms were amazing as ever! The staff were very welcoming, highly recommend!

The Longs Arms is a beautiful country pub serving cask ale and fresh seasonal food in a relaxed environment with warm and friendly service. We are located in the heart of the lovely village of South Wraxall â just 3 miles from the picturesque town of Brad
For my very lucky friends this is their local pub. I am insanely jealous as it is fantastic. I cannot fault it - service relaxed, casual and friendly, the food fresh, locally sourced and expertly prepared with great wines at reasonable prices all served in an old English country pub. The flavours are exceptional and the meals prepared with great attention to detail. The menu varies daily depending on what is in season and available so I guess one could go every week and enjoy something new. I don't need an excuse to visit my friends but if I did this would be it.

The Neston Country Inn is one of those rare and wonderful finds: a traditional village pub with a cosy bar, great rustic food and comfy rooms. Privately owned and run by Desrae and Tony Procos and dating back to the early 1800s the inn is tucked away clos
Last Saturday we rang four local pubs in the Corsham area to try and book for the following day, Sunday. No such luck. In any case, I have had some disappointing Sunday roasts lately - they are either poor quality or overly poshed-up (with a price to match). For the perfect 'Goldilocks' meal in between, I recommend Neston Country Inn. There was only one roast meat choice (beef) but there were many other options such as fish, vegetarian etc. It was proper old-school roast beef (including veering on well done - but still tender and tasty), with Yorkshire, the most fantastic gravy, perfectly crisp/fluffy roasties and a huge amount of fresh and well-cooked veg. At £12 it was also about £3 cheaper than other local Sunday roasts. Pudding too was old school and I could not resist steamed syrup pudding with custard. Yum! Service is attentive and friendly, and there are some very interesting local beers and ciders on tap (I particularly liked the Peto Press lightly sparkling cider). The decor along with everything else is old-school, but who cares? There is a log fire and it's dog-friendly. What's not to like? We will be back.

This pub has recently undergone extensive renovation and redecoration, transforming it into one of Bath's most popular venues at which to eat, drink and stay. Having received AA recognition, quality and consistency is the focus in the kitchen, where every
This place is very conveniently located on main road. Car parking. Large garden with outside tables and play area for children. The restaurant is large and casual. The team is very young but attentive. It is easiest to order individual drinks from the bar and wine through waiter. Service is a bit slow so not sure how they would cope with very busy service. As we walked in even before we were shown to table we were advised of specials . This should have been done at the table as forgotten detail of specials by time seated and got menus. The menu has some interesting food combinations. All our meals were well cooked and tasty. Decent size portions. Pudding menu was less appealing. Not a romantic destination but good for group meals and would be perfectly happy if staying in a room ( not seen) to have this restaurant attached. Only criticism - the tartan carpet needed a good vacuum. It did not create a good first impression.

The Quarrymans Arms is a friendly family run local Country Pub, located in the village Box on the outskirts of the City of Bath. Renowned for high quality food and convivial surroundings, the team offer the best of welcomes, whether you're joining for a s
I have eaten here many times and it has never failed to impress. A little hidden gem but well worth searching out. Iâm not sure how people âhappen across itâ unless you are lost in a car or walking a strange route, but hey, everyone who finds it is in for a treat. First, food: a great selection and always fresh. My personal favourite are the Boxhill Bangers - either with mash and gravy or salad, chips and beans!Second, beer: a great local selection and always a guest beer or two. Finally, the view/setting: the big selling point! Either from the huge picture window in the main lounge or from the beer garden the pub enjoys unrivalled views of the valley across to Colerne on the other side. Highly recommend a visit!
