A modern twist to the traditional with light lunches, delicious dinners and drinks to please all.
We called in to Koppers on Saturday night for a few drinks and the verdict was split 50:50. The Ladies enjoyed the cocktails especially the Velvet 75 and the Gents. were in agreement that both the draught Amstel and Moretti were awful. The worst pint I have had in a long time actually. This is an expensive place so you expect quality but alas it is lacking. We didn`t try any food so can`t comment. The service was good and the atmosphere was OK. Unless the beer improves I can`t see us returning.

Our last lunch of the holiday and we paid a visit to the Bush Inn. Having seen the menu board when we got here we were keen to try the food. Fish and Chips for the mother-in-law and a Cumberland Sharing Platter for the wife and I, washed down with a Jennings Bitter Shandy. What a fantastic way to end the holiday. The fish and chips looked lovely but the platter, OMG, what a dining treat. Cumberland sausages, chicken goujons, onion rings, three types of cheese, salad and bread, together with a side order of chips. Fantastic food, superb beer, in a traditional pub with friendly staff. What more can you ask for, value for money, most definitely. The Bush Inn is definitely somewhere you have to visit, I know we will be next time we're in the area.

Excellent wholesome generous portioned meals, served promptly by helpful friendly staff.
After a walk around the Western shore and the short diversion due to the imminent bridge repair we were glad of a cooling drink in the beer garden. The member of staff behind the bar was very pleasant and friendly and although food was not being served the bumper pack of salted peanuts kept us going until our evening meal.

It pains me to write this but our recent visit to the Trout was a really bad experience. We had visited a couple other times over the last 18 months and noticed the quality of the food and service had declined but refrained from writing a review in the hope that it was a 'bad spell'. Clearly, it looks to now be normality. We have been good customers of the Trout for many years, having got married here years ago, returning for regular meals in the restaurant, terrace bar and overnight stays. My review and two previous bad experiences are involving the Terrace Bar as we have refrained from booking the restaurant again until we seen improvement. The terrace menu is severely lacking in choice although there was a specials menu in addition to the terrace bar menu. No offer of kids menu/crayons when we had to go looking for adult menus, we had to request these. The kids menu choices were poor. The tables in the conservatory and outside were full of previous diners plates and drinks. We sat for 30 mins and whilst staff occasionally passed, our table was not cleared. We had to request the table to be cleared when ordering our food at the bar. Do not order the steak. I'm not sure what's happened to the lovely steaks the Trout used to serve - the steaks we were served should never have left the kitchen. We had the same experience during a previous visit. They genuinely look like frozen steaks you would purchase from a supermarket. The 'large' steaks are small, thin, hard and full of gristle and also looked pre cooked. My medium-rare was so tough with gristle and overcooked, I couldn't eat half of it. I should have taken pictures. We waited for our sides of veg to appear that we had ordered along with the steak. Ten minutes later we asked a member of staff if the sides were on their way and he went to ask the kitchen. They promised to bring them out asap and they finally landed another ten minutes later after which we had just about finished our mains. The kids pizza consisted of half a slice of bread with cheese melted on top and 7 chips. Would be sufficient for a 3 year old, is not sufficient for a 7, 8, 9 year old. The burger from the specials menu was child size. No one returned to ask if our food was ok. Our visit was mid/late afternoon and there was only a handful of other people outside and in the terrace bar.I should have complained and I'm annoyed I didn't however we've known some of the staff so long it was all a bit embarrassing. Unfortunately, after third time unlucky, we will not be returning to the Trout again which is a huge shame. I don't know what's happened to the quality of their food but they really need to return it to its previous high quality. Severely overpriced for what is now served.

We dined and drank here when staying overnight after our walk from Braithwaite to Buttermere on day 3 of 6 on the Inn Way. We enjoyed some very good ales and single malts, plus a very good meal in the more formal restaurant with a nice bottle of Rioja. All in all, a delightful experience.

A warm welcome to humans and dogs, great taps, stunning food and beautiful views! We aim to serve classic pub food with a twist that changes with the seasons, all food is made fresh and served to you in relaxing surroundings with great music to accompany.
We enjoyed a delicious evening meal here and spoilt ourselves with three courses. Falafels and potato skins to start, both generous portions so make sure you go hungry if youâre having three courses! We both had burgers which were great, served in a charcoal bun; Iâve never had that before, it looked really interesting. Finally we had pear & chocolate Eton mess which was amazing. Loved every mouthful. Fantastic service from the owner who takes care to speak to each table, really friendly.

Visited to meet up with friends, was glad they recommended this place. Nice cosy pub with good drinks selection. Food choice was good and the meal itself was great. Would definitely visit again.
