We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in and found a casual contemporary dining room. There are several tv's, and even a train, to occupy every family member. The menu is simple but excellent. The burgers are sirloin, top quality. About the same pricing as Red Robin, only the food is much better. I came on Tuesday for $5.95 great American cheeseburger day. I also had a side to f their mac n cheese. Yum. Service is very good. We will be back.

I have been going to the River Rat for years and never once had a poor to mediocre meal. From pasta dishes to ribs to salads to sandwiches to seafood, the food has been excellent. Additionally, I have also found the service to be 5-star - friendly, informative and always helpful.

I was shopping in the area and decided to get a bite to eat before I went home. This place is tucked away in the back of a shopping area. I'm not sure I could have ever found it if I was actually looking for it. I asked the waitress what she recommended which was the steak bites and a few other sandwiches and burgers. I went with the steak bites which were very good and cooked perfectly. I also had the pretzel coated cheese curds, which were just average. I sat in the bar area which was very loud. I would definitely go back and try some of their burgers. There were quite a few that sounded delish. It seemed as though a lot of locals frequent the joint, which to me is a good sign. There was a patio that was not in use because it was cold outside.

I went here on a Sunday afternoon when the place was literally empty and had it all to myself. Large Pub type atmosphere with plenty of TV screens everywhere if you wish to catch up on sports. I ordered the Avocado, Portabello Mushroom Burger and pitched in a bit extra for Fries as opposed to Chips that comes with it. Fries were fresh and warm and tasted pretty good. The burger was done as I had requested. The server was quite attentive and pleasant and did a good job. Overall was quite pleased with my meal and time at the Hamlin. Would recommend.

ordered appetizers, then had enough and got the heck out of there. it's a depressing place with food and atmosphere like a nursing home. Server was nice and did the best she could, and that's why I gave it two stars, but nothing about this place is appealing or appetizing. isnt onion soup supposed to have onions in it?

Late lunch today for 2. Soup, and two "pick 3" lunches, with water was $$$! $28. So, I'd consider this an expensive place for any meal, (dinner is higher). The food was pretty good overall. Grits, greens, sweet potatoes and mac. The greens had black eyes peas in them which I've never seen before. The mac and cheese and grits were very good and sweet potatoes ok. I'd call this a once in awhile visit due to the cost. The decor is neat,

Got the chicken fettuccine caprice special and the calamari picatta over fettuccine. Both were amazing and so different. The calamari was especially good, more calamari than pasta! Huge portions, enough for 2 meals! We ate on their patio earlier this week. They made us orange martinis that were excellent. Everyone we encounter there are a pleasure to deal with. Great food and service!

This was our first time here, although we live just 20 minutes away. There was a short wait as this place is always so busy. Our waitress Neelee did a great job of taking our order and serving us. I was very impressed by the young bus boys, they were hard at work the whole time we were there clearing off tables. We tried the Captain Steak Bites for an appetizer and we split a full slab of ribs dinner. (Hat's off to the cooks). Everything was good, including the drinks.

Very disappointed, had the parmesan crusted white fish and it was horrible. Very hard, no flavor, only could taste a strong fishy taste. So, not worth the money. Seasonal vegetables was summer squash and it was not cooked enough, tasted bad.
