Worst food and service. We went on a quiet Sunday. There was only one other table at the time we ordered. 1 hour and fifteen minutes our food came. Some had clearly been cooked and then put under a heat lamp. Some was undercooked. My wife had a salad that was some mozzarella cut up and some tomato and was tasteless. I had am omelette that was so overcooked it was crunchy. My daughter had eggs benedict that was served with a neon yellow sauce with the eggs over hard and a burnt english muffins. My other daughter had biscuits and gravy. The gravy was cold and congealed and the biscuits were burnt. My son had a waffle that was uncooked.

Ok...it's not fancy, but we've been coming to the See-Zurh House on and off for over 45 years (how did that happen !??) We came all the way from Jupiter, Florida for the famous Beef-On-Weck ..the ice cold local brews on tap are pretty righteous as well !!

A nice local casual dining restaurant. Their walleye fish fry and local perch are cooked very well. The sides were all great. The service was really friendly. The French prime rib is a specialty - basically a prime run with French onion soup on it (onion soup, croutons and cheese). The only knock was the unimaginative house salad.

This is a bar that has 1000 personalities. Come midday, especially on a nice day, and you can sit out front and watch the world go by while you grab some grub and have a drink. Come in the winter, and this is a warm landing place amidst a cold, forbidding landscape, and you can find ice fisherman and snowmobilers in numbers. Come late afternoon, and you can likely catch someone playing guitar on the porch as the sun works it way down, and come in here later at night and you can find drunks aplenty. This is a drinking bar - not a place to bring your four kids (though there are parts that are definitely more restaurant than tavern) - and the seats around said bar are going to be used by folks that live in this area (Mayville and surrounding). We've been going to the Lakeview for 20 years, and it's astonishing how little it has really changed. The food is very, very typical bar fare and it has never rated above decent for our group, but that's fine - you go to the Lakeview because it's close by, the people are completely real and authentic, and it's a great spot to watch a game. I wish they'd finally stop serving fries from a frozen bag, or burgers that come from the freezer, but they probably won't. I love that they still offer a little salad bar - such as it is - and that occasionally they stretch on specials (stuffed haddock on a recent night). But, truthfully, I've never had a meal in two decades where I said, "Wow, that was amazing." They've got a nice selection of local beers (Southern Tier offerings heavy on the draft front), they ring the bell when someone tips, the bartenders aren't going to be easily ruffled by anything (because they've seen almost everything), and the food comes out hot. Take it for what it is and appreciate it - the Lakeview is an institution down the road from The Institution - and they couldn't be more millions of miles apart in culture and compadres.

As other stated, the service really needs to be better. Were there during the week and it wasn't adequate. They have a great location and patio area (except, honestly -- has no one else noticed the raw sewage smell on the patio??? Not constant but enough to ask us to be moved to the entrance side of the patio. When we commented to the waiter on it, the answer was "oh yeah - we get a lot of complaints on the smell from next door - ??!!). The nachos came out with the protein missing, but we weren't charged for it. I am giving it 3 stars because it could be great. Hoping the management heeds to advice -- fix the sewage issue and your service.

Nice place for casual drinks, burgers, wings etc. Great friendly staff. If you want a very casual down to earth place to hang out, grab something to eat and drink, this is it. And they bring in bands too. Not over priced. A very popular place for snowmobilers.

Small and Large Plates with Wine, Cocktails, and Beer in a Victorian Chautauqua home. Serves Lunch, Dinner and Drinks
There are many wonderful places to eat at Chautauqua. This is not one of them. Crowded bar. Good drinks and youngish people. Ordered gin martini. Not one known brands. Five mysterious brands. One of them described at naval gin. We had two. Awful. Tasted like ethanol. Sat down to dinner with two ok Stella Artois. Ordered the burgers. Ok. But pounding music was not appreciated. I will never go for dinner again. Maybe a drink. Popular brands of whiskeys. But no to dinner.

We live on the lake and decided to take friends for lunch at Webb's. Seeing that there were 7 of us, I made reservations ahead of time. We entered on the main floor and told the hostess that we had reservations for 7 on the deck. She grabbed 7 menus then just stared at me to the point I had to look away. She finally said "just go upstairs". So we did and the process repeated with a waitress on the upper deck. She was not prepared for our party of 7 and had to set up a table. I watched in amazement as she put a round table next to a square table to have seating for 7. It was horrendous. Those who sat where the round met the square had a very awkward table setting. The service was average. The noise from the road at times made it impossible to hear the conversation. Finally, the prices for an awkward table setting, noise, and average service were out of line. I paid $18 for a salad that did NOT have any protein. Mind you, this was a weekday and after the summer season. We will not be returning to Webb's.
