Visited on a warm Monday evening after a stay at nearby Lucknam Park. We wanted a light bite before heading home on our 3-hour journey and chose a sharing platter. Wow! Great quality, really tasty and well presented, we enjoyed every morsel. A wonderfully spacious and sprawling pub with lovely views by the river.

In the centre of Castle Combe opposite the Church
stopped for impromptu lunch, expected normal pub quality food at least, nothing more nothing less, its a pub after all.....menu was slightly disappointing, but the food was thoroughly awful, truly truly atrocious. Rank.Dirty bird dropping ridden tables in the ""garden"". Drinks were as would expect from a pub, but that was where it peaked!! Never again. Not cheap either as the final insult.Just checking sir what did you have to eat so we can respond

Set it the picturesque village of Biddestone ,this traditional village local is overlooking the beautiful green and duck pond. The pub itself is very quirky , with old features that have never been touched. The White Horse featured heavily in Sky 1's Agat
We had a lovely welcome from the landlady and the young waiter and waitress were very efficient. They had run out of roast dinner but provided me with chicken, cheaper and salad. The chicken was so tasty, loved it, the skin was crisp and yummy. My wife had the mushroom risotto when I do not usually like. However I had a taste and the flavours blew me away.If I have to moan, please do not water down sauces, but in the grand scheme of things, itâs not a buggy.

A traditional and privately owned village inn offering home cooked fayre, an excellent range of well kept real ales and ciders, free wireless broadband, quality en-suite Bed and Breakfast, seasonal open log fire and a warm and friendly welcome.Winner - Ch
Excellent! Called late in the day (4:30) for 8pm booking table for 2 and no problem. Lovely cosy atmosphere and friendly bar staff. Food cooked fresh to order so expecting a wait as quite busy but was out within a decent time. Had the pigeon to start and duck for main, my friend had the Brie to start and lamb shank (specials board) and all dishes were extremely nice. Well presented and cooked beautifully. How lovely to hear that you enjoyed your meals with us earlier this week - thank you for visiting and for posting a review which is much appreciated and does go a long way towards making all of the hard work worthwhile. Your compliments have been passed on to our wonderful team here and we hope to welcome you again before long.

My husband and I were staying nearby and based on reviews we decided to try this place out. There was plenty of parking and also lots of seating. We were shown where to sit and given menus. There was plenty of choice on the menu alone but there is also a huge specials board next to the bar. My husband is a big meat eater whereas I am a pescetarian but there was plenty of choice for both of us. We shared the salmon and prawn cocktail which was a generous portion, then he had the steak and I had the cheese ploughman's salad for our mains. Again both were large portions and there was no room for dessert! The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be back!

The Old House at Home is a wonderful old ivy-clad country pub located in the village of Burton, only two miles from Castle Combe. With a soulful and unpretentious vibe, the award-winning, family-run restaurant has a cosy dining room with a roaring open fi
Imaginative dishes which are very nicely presented and good portions. There is a specials board too.We had a voucher from travelzoo which allowed a starter, main course and coffee for 2 people for £25 making it very reasonable. The staff were very accommodating and said we could swap the starter for dessert if we prefered. We didn't as the starters were more interesting. Pleasant atmosphere and well worth another visit.

Dropped in on the off chance that we might grab something to eat on a late Sunday afternoon, we were greeted by the most accommodating landlord who quite simply couldn't do enough for us.Both opted for the roast beef, an amazing portion size, a great selection of accompanying vegetables, generous with the beef and a special mention for the cauliflower cheese which was luscious. Unfortunately we didn't leave any room for dessert so will have to return one day.Amazing value for money, most definitely recommended.

Here at Underwood, we aim to provide a relaxing yet exciting dining experience. Set over three floors with a newly decorated Lounge Bar taking up the first floor, a beautiful restaurant on the lower floors with some of the best views in Bath looking over
We were walking past Underwood and decided to pop-in for dinner. We had a table by the window and Monika, our server, was terrific. Actually, all the service staff were terrific. We had their butternut soup and chicken dinner and both were amazing. If we were staying longer we would have returned for another amazing meal!Dear Mummyccr,Thank you very much for the great review. We are glad to hear that you received great service. If your ever in the area again we do hope you pop back in.Warm RegardsThe Underwood Team
