Just arrived in Suffolk, found Decoyâs, outside bar/pool/restaurant on the water! Win!! Yes, changing rooms, go hang out, with drinks, in the pool!! Fresh seafood, outside we experienced steamed oysters and shrimp! Beer/wine/drinks. Beer is cold, had an Orange Crush, frozen, premixed but still good, not as good as Virginia Beach hand made but still good. Looking forward to dinner there later in the week!

The view looking west of the James River is spectacular. We were there for a social event that started in the early evening. There is indoor and outdoor capacity. The bar is good and the food, while nothing exceptional, is adequate and fairly priced. Service was good, particularly considering that we were a large group. The television over the bar is tuned to Fox news: so some folks will be delighted and others offended. We would return on a nice afternoon or evening just to enjoy drinks and the wonderful view of a sunset over the James.

Friendly servers, good bartender, good food, great place to hang out. The place is clean and easy to navigate inside, with ample parking outside. Big menu of assorted barbeque meats, which can be bought in huge sizes for parties. The bartender does the artwork on the chalkboard, which was cute.

Possibly. Certainly the best meal we've had in the Smithfield/Suffolk area in two years. Very cozy with fireplace in the evening. Fried green tomatoes and Smithfield ham biscuits as starters were very good. Nice beer and mixed drink selection but we settled on an excellent California red for a very reasonable price. Double crabs cakes as a main were very good as were the lamb dish and steak. My wife's chicken Marsala was one of the best renditions of that dish I have tasted. Might have the shrimp and grits next time. Save room for dessert. We tried and shared three. Nice kids menu. Good service and we could park right out front.Thank you for dining with us! Please let us know what we can do to earn that coveted 5th bubble on your next visit. : )--Leigh, GM

After Touring Bacon's Castle we were starving. I heard about Smithfield Station from a friend. We decided to stop by for lunch. The moment we arrived the hostess, as well owner greeted us as if we were regulars. The menu was varied and suitable for families or a romantic dinner. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the water & was nicely decorated. It was also very clean!I ordered the soft shell Crabs and they were outstanding. Everything we had was fresh & delicious. The waitress was personable, professional, & anticipated our every need.

Wharf Hill Brewing Company brings satisfying food, craft beer, wine, and mixed beverages to people looking for a comfortable small-town brewpub. The bar, dining room, and event space occupy the first floor of the 1906 Elk's Lodge building. All of the inte
We had friends from out of town this past weekend and told them about wharf hill. Arrived at 1140 on sunday and ordered pretty quickly. As always the food was wonderful but it took over an hour to get it. The kind waitress kept apologizing and brought us some cold corn muffins but we were beyond hungry when the meal arrived. We were embarrassed and would be hesitant to bring visitors again to WH. We loved the old building, the fried cauliflower and sandwiches are fantastic. But the wait time to get the food was way beyond ok and I believe if they had offered a compensation for the wait, we wouldn't have been as unhappy. A discount or complimentary dessert etc. Our friends ran late for their long drive home and we had arrived at opening to beat the Sunday crowd. I hate to write the negative review as the food is really good and reasonable but waiting over an hour after ordering is a show stopper.

We stopped here on our way home from a golf outing. Everyone in our foursome had something different and everybody enjoyed their food. We got here after the lunch so it was not crowded. Our server was very friendly and made some nice recommendations. Food was hot and good. I would not hesitate to stop here again for lunch.

Out and about in Carrollton and saw this place was close and had good reviews. Being a late Sunday afternoon the place was quiet which was nice as we weren't looking for an overly crowded place, so no wait for a table. Server was attentive and food was good. Sometimes quiet is just what the doctor ordered. Would return.

My wife and I decided to celebrate our 27th anniversary at the Vintage Tavern. When we arrived we were met with a friendly hostess and immediately seat at our table next to the fire place. The wait staff was friendly and asked if we were celebrating anything special, and responded by saying we were celebrating 27 years of marriage. We were offered a glass of champagne to celebrate, but since we don't drink we turned down the offer. Our meal was served hot and cooked to perfection.During our entire meal our waitress was constantly stopping by and checking on us. At the end of our dinner, we were offered complimentary ice cream in lieu of the champagne. We would like the thank the entire Vintage Tavern staff for making us feel welcome and in making our anniversary celebration special.

My church group has come here several times now and this, unfortunately, had the smallest turnout. Rain and cold and a bad forecast was the probable cause. For the first time I had the large fried shrimp dinner. It was quite good - lots of carefully fried shrimp, two hushpuppies, with my choice of cole slaw and their veggie of the day green beans. I asked about the cooking of the beans - still too many restaurants go back to that old Southern standard of one pound of beans, two pounds of side meat, start right after breakfast and cook until dinner. NOPE. Very tasty, al dente, with a few bits of onion - super. I had to take some home - I know nukeing fried shrimp is not the best thing, but throwing some out is the worst! Oh, full disclosure - the owner/manager is a former cross country runner of mine. That doesn't change my rating.
