First trip to Carolina Beach and we weren't familiar with any restaurants. Kinda just parked, walked around and ended up here. We wanted to sit on the deck outside but all the seating was taken. We ended up being placed inside in a corner booth right next to the gambling machines, which I didn't care for. Our server seemed a little short with us when we first got there, but she warmed up and turned out to be a decent server. I ordered fried flounder/crabcake with fries and slaw and my husband got fried flounder/oysters/shrimp with fries and slaw. Not sure if the seafood was fresh or frozen but it sure was delicious. Best crab cake I've eaten in a long time and the flounder was perfect. Slaw and fries were good too, although I was disappointed that I was unable to get a baked potato instead of fries. My husband cleaned his plate so his food was good too. Neither of us cared for the sweet tea, It was rather weak and watered down. This seems like more of a locals place because everyone that came in seemed to know everyone else, so we felt a little out of place. Apparently they have karaoke in the evenings, which we did not stay for. All in all, a good meal. Better than Bowman's Seafood down the road, which came recommended but we did not find to be that great.

This is a fun and inexpensive place to have a drink and a bite of "bar food". The service was great and the food was tasty. Our only criticism is that my wife's mixed drink was almost flavorless. Probably stale juice or something like that. It's a bar, the drinks should all be good.

We have recently relocated our restaurant from the mountains of NC to Carolina Beach. We are located "on the boardwalk." We have been in business for 30+ years serving real-pit-BBQ! We serve smoked pulled pork, pulled beef, ribs, and Chicken. We also have
Walking the Pavilion and found this location. Atmosphere was nice and server got us seated and drinks followed. Good choices on the menu and food soon arrived. Server was prompt and kept the glasses filled. Got crowded soon after we arrived which told us we made a good choice. Will visit this restaurant again.

when you think Irish Pub think the Local's Favorite spot! The Cheers of the Island. Stop in for great food and great service. Serving full menu until 11PM every day. Live Music on Friday and Saturday.
Restaurant Style: Irish/American pub food and full barLast Visit: March 8, 2019Ambiance: Best time for an Irish pub visit has to be close to St. Patrickâs Day. The nice dark wood and tables looping the U-shape bar fulfill the pubby expectation but this is a Carolina Beach bar so there is outside seating on three sides. Probably the outside seating would offer more comfortable options for families with children. Service: Bar or dining options, we were met with grace and cheeriness. Even when we dumped a glass of ice water all over the table and floor, the staff evinced the most concern for our dry clothes and the absence of broken glass shards. Eaters not drinkers, we concentrated on the fish and chips and sinful chocolate cake. Both made a big hit. Other less common options include Bangers and Mash (takes me back to London), Shepherdâs Pie, and the local Brunswick Stew (after all, Brunswick is only a county away). Although the full bar offers lots of options, Iâm a sucker for the lucious Guinness on tap. Although I would call the bill of fare mostly bar grub, it arrives well-prepared with as much care as their good beers. Worth a trip to the beach. For Kids: Kids cheese qusedilla, chicken tenders, 6 oz.burger, fish and fries or grilled cheese with cheddar fries. Difference Dividend: Lots of live entertainment on the calendar ahead here. Call ahead for the options. On the food side, try fried Mac and cheese balls.Expense Account: Figure about $15 each without alcohol.Adult Beverages: Full bar.I love your details and how you provide some great information in your review! Thanks so much for your review â we appreciate it!

Live locally so have been here a few times. It is a nice venue on a sunny day..we went for lunch..sat down at table outside..table was dirty sand all over it I had to wipe it off..waitress said nothing just picked up my dirty napkin. I had the chicken sandwich which was good...my sister had the shrimp tacos special which was....meh...ok..nothing special about it..funny that you get a sandwich and there is nothing on the bun.completely dry as a bone..I asked for honey mustard..something...waitress said they dont have that..She said I could have mayo..which was brought out in a small packet..weird..these days many restaurants pride themselves on sauces and condiments that make for a great sandwich...NOT here !...the service was ok..not friendly at all..but sufficient..this place could elevate itself to a higher level..but Inguess they are not interested.

Wife another couple and I dined here last night, our first time and believe me, it gets no better than this wonderful establishment. The wait staff was great and extremely professional, the entrees were second to none I have ever eaten in the County. Appetizers of Flash Fried Oysters Rockafella and Classis Carolina Crab Dip were tasty starters, I had the Bourbon Brasied Baby Back ribs, Wife had a Special of the day Crab Quesadilla, friends Wife had a Special of the Day Seafood Lasagna and her Husband had the Catch of the Day Grouper. I sampled the Quesadilla and the Grouper and both were Heavenly-Fresh off the boat. My BBR were fall-off-the bone perfect. We all agreed this food was prepared by Chef's that obviously enjoyed their Profession. Prices were reasonable. They are closed Sunday and Monday and will be open all year, so if you live in town, make the drive for a fantastic meal, prepared under immaculate clean conditions and served by a wonderful staff

Now it is a bad sign at a seafood place when both the hostess and server said they dont really like seafood and could not make a recommendation. Chowder was a salty and lacked visible sea food. The seafood linguine had pleanty for sure and the duck was excellent. Maybe with the end of season staff is difficult to find but it definitely put is off that they did not seem to like the seafood options.

Very busy place, depending on when you visit obviously, but worth a look. I had the flounder sandwich and it was the best bit of fish I have ever tasted. My wife had the shrimp sandwich and she liked hers too.

On a day trip from Wrightsville Beach, we saw it on the way as we passed thru Carolina Beach and are glad we came back for lunch. Sitting back from the road with very little free parking, you almost feel like you are in a tree house as you climb the set of stairs to the small out side deck area. Inside is small also, but it has a homey, beachy, relaxing atmosphere with beer signs and surfboards hanging on the wall. My pulled pork BBQ sandwich and slaw were great as was my wife's seafood salad with shrimp. All the food and drink prices were very reasonable with $3 Landshark pints. Our waitress was excellent and we will be sure to stop here again in future travels.Thank you very much!!!
