As one of the few places to go in Durness, it does get busy (especially at peak times). It's right next to the caravan site near to the beach.The pub serves a range of alcohol. There is also a restaurant on the side that you can buy food at (although it shuts much earlier than the bar). The salmon and potatoes were pretty nice and the salmon was very well cooked. Main courses range from about £10-15. There is also a surprisingly good wine list to accompany the food.Overall, if you're staying in Durness and want somewhere to go for a few drinks or a decent meal without having to walk, this is probably your best bet!

We were staying in Wick for a couple of nights and found this online before we arrived and booked ahead.The staff were friendly but the decor was slightly ageing. The food was good but some dishes not available. The price wasn't too bad and we didn't have to wait too long but the chips, although good when served very quickly seemed to become limp and lost there crispness.The fish and scampi certainly tasted fresh and we both would go back.Hello AndrewRWilson,Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to the Norseman, we are happy to hear that over all you enjoyed your stay with us and that you would come back!We currently have an ongoing maintenance and improvement programme throughout the hotel and will take your comment regarding the decor on board. This tiny pub (once a blacksmith shop) is full of character. We visited with a large group (roughly forty people) as an optional outing with our tour group. We were treated with songs, stories and humor from Raymond Bremner who is a local from the community. He had us laughing, singing and interacting throughout his performance. We were also treated with a young lady on the bagpipes. Such a fun evening.

Given that this was a pub and we ate in the bar (having pre booked a table in the restaurant) overall, we enjoyed the experience. The table we were given was awful, situated right outside the toilets!, so not the best start. Our waitress was very nice and looked after us very well, the menu was pretty good and we all enjoyed different meals at a reasonable price. the bar itself was very friendly and welcoming. Overall, not bad.

One of the best meals we have had during our NC500 travels! The salmon was perfectly cooked, as was the pork belly served on a bed of pumpkin risotto. Our waitress was also lovely and really made us feel so welcome. Keep up the great work!

The perfect pub for a drink and good food if like us you are staying at Sleeperzzz a few minutes walk away. It was a quiet Monday night near the end of the season but we received a very warm welcome from the owner and tasty hot food served in the relaxing dining room.

Quick visit to Dornoch and could not resist having an impromptu scotch tasting. Everyone in our group of four ordered a different single malt and we retired to the garden to sample and share. Bar staff were very helpful with recommendations and really friendly. The bar is nice the garden is terrific - if the weather cooperates.

As you walk in the place is quite freshly decorated and has pleasant music, but that's where it stops. The food is quite poor compared to many places in Thurso. The staff are young and miserable, they probably need to go on a customer relations course.The male toilets are quite disgusting and you can smell them as you walk in the rear entrance,,,,not at all pleasant.For visitors to Thurso go elsewhere.Thank you for taking the time to leave us a response, albeit a negative one.Ynot is a popular restaurant with both locals and tourists alike and normally we receive very positive feedback on both our food and our staff. We are sorry to hear that on this occasion you were disappointed with both.Regarding the male toilets, they are shared with the public bar next to the restaurant and here at Ynot we pride ourselves on our excellent cleaning standards. Staff carry out regular toilet checks and understand the importance of keeping these areas clean as well as the restaurant and bar areas. We can only presume on this occasion that perhaps you caught us at one of our more busier times and we can only apologise that you found the toilets to be unacceptable. Please rest assured this review has been fed back to both the restaurant and bar staff to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Our room was a twin en suite but it was part of a loft conversion. The room was small and there was no wardrobe. The en-suite was tiny, reminded me of a caravan bathroom. The smallest sink I have seen and a shower curtain round the shower area. Actually a wet room. It was difficult to dry as the curtain kept getting in the way and there was no room to stretch out. I could only get in and out of my bed one way as the other way I would hit my head on the sloping ceiling. The price of this tiny room was £110 a night with breakfast. I understand that the NC500 has made a difference to tourism but donât rip people off. The owner was a really nice guy and food great but donât bother to stay.

We booked to stay for one night as we're doing the NC500 trip on motorbikes. 9 if us in total, we booked a mini bunk house and 3 tent pitches.Great value, amazing accommodation, fantastic food and service second to none. We were served by Abbie who couldn't do enough for us, great attention to deal and really friendly.We will definitely come back here again! Can't recommend it enough!
