We booked an evening meal whilst staying two nights at a dfferent hotel in Windermere. Nice greeting by the two gents behind the bar. Booked us in and arranged drinks. Taken through to the restaurant, again the staff were efficient, menu explained and orders taken. We noticed that the waiters needed towels to carry out plates so they must be hot, disappointed that our waiter didnt and our plates were cold. I had the suet beef pud with chips and peas, the pease were stone cold and my food quickly followed, our waiter did bring a dish of red hot peas. My wife had the special meat dish which was luke warm with red hot sweet potatoe fries. Very disappointing. We did get two drinks free to compensate. Wont go back

Located in the centre of town, this hotel was always busy with locals and tourists alike. We were welcomed immediately and a table for two was quickly offered. The staff were all friendly and efficient, very professional throughout attending to our requirements. The choice of food was excellent, particularly the fish dishes. I had Swordfish which was cooked to perfection. Prices were reasonable, in line with the all round quality offered. Week enjoyed our visit so much we went a second time within our four day stay, and received an identical experience at this superb restaurant.

I had an early dinner here - thereâs a special offer from 5.30pm to 7.00pm. Itâs very good value. I had Hummus with Olives etc which was tasty, then the Fish of the Day - a baked fillet of salmon. It was very nice, presented well and delicious. The restaurant is located a little further out of Bowness-on-Windermere than most shops and eateries, nearer Windermere village, so it probably doesnât get noticed by a lot of visitors. Itâs worth a visit though.

Warm and welcoming,,,,snug and cosy,,,charming and quirkey....the list goes on and on..!!! Let your self drop in and have a drink or two and try one of the many Craft Ales they sell. This little bar has more about it than most bigger chains could ever strive for. And from the "Smallest Pub" title in the lakes to its indoor beer garden, this is a real jem of a place, coupled with its massive range of ales, beers and ciders, we found it truely one of the Lakes best little places to visit...

The Magic Roundabout in the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere. Cafe. Gin Bar. Restaurant. Smokehouse. Open daily serving from morning until late.
Visited here last week for dinner. We'd booked in advance via the website, but didnt receive the confirmation email so I had to call them to check. They did have the booking thankfully, as we'd have missed out if we'd not gone here.Menu has enough choice to suit different tastes and appetites, including vegetarians. I had the vegan choc-caramel for pudding (as I have to eat dairy free) & it was divine.Downstairs is a cafe bar sort of vibe, upstairs a cosy restaurant feel, same menu in both.

Just had a couple of nights here and what a great find. Perfect location in the middle of Windermere with off street parking. Lovely large room, big enough for a table and chairs in the window which we had our breakfast at. Staff lovely and friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Had a meal here which was very nice. Would definitely stay here again.

After a lunchtime visit we tried to book an evening meal. It came as no surprise to find the place was fully booked right from outset since the reason we tried to book was simply the ambience and the feeling that weâd discovered a gem. Our lunch was just soup and sandwiches but there was enough evidence to convince us that a more formal meal would not disappoint. Sitting outside in the sun with lovely Lakeland views influenced our impressionof course, but the overall impact was of a real pub which had made the difficult move to become a good eating place. Service was friendly and excellent, the beer was local and first rate and the food was freshly made and not the standard pub fare. And the prices were not high. The repeat lunch the next day confirmed the first impression.

Family owned and run Hotel, bar and restaurant in the Centre of Bowness on Windermere, the perfect place to stay for your Lake District break, within close walking distance of Lake Windermere and everything the area has to offer.
We went for dinner on a Saturday evening, having booked a table earlier in the day.The restaurant was very busy with families and couples dining. The service was good however the staff were rushed off their feet and looked to me as though they was not enough staff to cover the bar or the restaurant. The menu was varied and reasonable priced all the food was cooked to order and plentiful and delicious. We would definitely go back again however may try lunch instead of dinner on a Saturday night.Dear Reviewer, please be aware that we no longer respond to your reviews on an individual basis.
