We went for dinner yesterday evening and I phoned about 2 hours before just to make sure of a table. We hadnât been to the Bistro for well over a year. Although itâs an all year round place, I think it comes into its own with the good weather. Itâs setting is priceless sitting just off the scenic canal banks with lush farmland all around. Inside not a lot had changed. It still had an open and airy ambience and the friendly and welcoming staff were still present. The menu had changed a little to in that the specials used to be on a board but now they are on the first page of an extensive menu which also offers choices for the gluten free and vegetarian guests. We opted for starters and main with wine and a cappuccino each to finish. We both had the lentil soup and my wife said she couldnât have made better herself. Defo a compliment. The bill was mid range pricing but without doubt great value. Hopefully it wonât be a year plus to our next visit. Parking is no problem and there is even an overflow car park when busy. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Our new extended restaurant has a country inn feel and vibrant contemporary touches. With a fresh new menu, relaxed atmosphere and excellent service, the West Port is one of the best places to eat in Linlithgow.
Great choices on lunch menu available mon-fri £6 main courses , the food was delicious we all had smothered chicken. Very tasty, food hot and portions just right. We then had baileys profiteroles/ sticky toffee pudding. They too were delicious Thankyou to Jiselle & Louise for the great friendly service.Certainly be back Thank you for taking the time to review us at the West Port. The lunch menu really is great value isn't it, £6 for a main course... no scrimping on portions either! We'd failed to get a table on the Saturday night as it was packed, so booked ahead for Weds. Given a corner table in the bar area. Friendly staff. Ordered 2 Specials - duck and mushroom stroganoff. Both were lovely and good portions. No AF beer apart from Becks Bleurgh so gave that a miss but OH enjoyed his real ale. Booked for 2 nights later and asked for the same seat. That wasn't possible as a regular eats at that table every Fri, so we were given another close by. This time we ordered mushroom burrito and pork & herb sausage. Nice enough but burrito had far too much 'ratatouille'. Pleasant enough all around. It did feel cliquey (lots of bar gossip) but we were only there for the food so left once we'd finished.

The Corbie Inn pub/restaurant was refurbished and re-opened in October 2011. It is situated close to the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway line. In the summer you will be able to waive to the passing trains on their way to and from Birkhill Clay Mine from the bee
Three of us descended into Bo'ness following a visit to Linlithgow Palace, seeking a Forthside walk and a meal before visiting the famous Art Deco, Hippodrome cinema.Corbie Inn offered 'home cooked' dishes made from fresh ingredients and served hot with a smile by their helpful staff, and all washed down with real ale. All three of us had different dishes and declared them tasty and plentiful. They provide a decent expresso too. For honest good value pub meals Corbie Inn is excellent.
