Reviews on Bar food in Bay of Plenty Region, North Island, New Zealand. The Bay of Plenty (Māori: Te Moana-a-Toi) is a large bight in the northern coast of New Zealand's North Island. It stretches from the Coromandel Peninsula in the west to Cape Runaway in the east, a wide stretch of some 259 km of open coastline. The Bay of Plenty Region is situated around this body of water, also incorporating several large islands in the bay. The bay was named by James Cook after he noticed the abundant food supplies at several Māori villages there, in stark contrast to the earlier observations he had made in Poverty Bay.

Have dined here many times in the past and always enjoyed the menu. Tonight we were very disappointed. A Chicken burger with what was very similar to tinned chicken in a Lettuce leaf and nothing more. Unfortunately my expectation was a little higher and a burger in my experience has more than just chicken in it. Childrenâs pizza was good as were the fries. Service was good and staff were friendly.

Popped over for dinner & had a great night. Enjoyed the open mic live music & the food. My partner is GF&vegetarian and the staff were very accommodating. The chef even came to our table for a chat about gf stuff! Well definitely be back.

A large group of us went for dinner, we all agreed it was average, and would not rush back. It was a busy night and the food arrived in good time, but one meal arrived alot later than the others, after asking twice, with no explanation, obviously missed. The service was also average from the waitress, food nothing to write home about. Better places in Tauranga to go to.Hi BarbaraNZ08, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to read your recent visit with us was average. This is not the customer experience we pride ourselves on delivering, busy or not. We can only address a staff members service or rectify a situation if our Manager on Duty is advised at the time. Our Managers are trained and dedicated and do need to be addressed to recover any dissatisfaction. We would of course like to invite you back and ask that you please notify the Manager on shift or owner upon your return so that we can ensure you leave feeling great. We would also like to know which booking you were to better address your comments and know how we could have enhanced the experience. Arrived here mid week for lunch, without reservations, and found service and food consistently good. I had chicken sandwich/burger and partner had a brisket burger that was currently on special. Food was good, didnât have to wait too long and service was good. Menu has good choices and we find it well worth trying for lunch or dinner. Will be returning!

A little slice of Dublin right in the heart of Rotorua! Serving great food, great drinks and showing LIVE sport daily, the only place to feel at home in Rotorua if you've a touch of Irish!
The last time I went here I was not impressed (in July 2019). Another club I belong to wanted to have a lunch meeting here. I was not looking forward to it.I am so pleased to say that the service was much better. We had a meeting where the meal arrived in a timely manner, the Head Waitress was very organised and we ALL got our meals within minutes of each other. My congratulations to the Head Waitress, she did a marvellous job. This was the way that the separate room meals should be run.

As a local, I am shocked to read the couple of very negative reviews below... I just do not recognise the place they describe as the one friends and I have loved eating/drinking/socialising at countless times over many many years. Have always found the service excellent - friendly, helpful and efficient. Food always very tasty, my favourite being the lamb shanks, always beautifully tender and delicious. One request Gregg: PLEASE bring back the mashed potato instead of the pumpkin, much nicer to go with the delicious lamb shanks! PS> Appreciate that they are happy to give you a 'doggy bag' when can't eat all of the generous serving!Hello NZNana. Pumpkin is gone, with a potato bake with new style Shanks starting today (by coincidence). Mash and Peas will be back for winter 2020.Thanks for the support!

Abracadabra cafe and bar "Good food, good vibes" a funky 1940s house with unique character and atmosphere. Come in and meet us for exceptional kiwi service with a smile.
Abracadabra is a good place to stop for any meal. Good choice of seating available. Whether it be on deck over looking street, inside or out the back. All good. And reasonable spacing between setting, not all crammed up like some places.Good food choices at reasonable pricing. Love the almond and orange star cake! Staff friendly and welcoming.

We proudly bring you food with soul to our little piece of the world. Restaurant quality in-house smoked meats,Gourmet in-house ground burgers, Gluten-free seafood at takeaway prices. Oh and we make our own bacon.
We felt right at home and welcomed as soon as we walked in. We have been living in New Zealand for a few months now and miss the BBQ we used to have in the US. We were very happy to find The Factory Smokehouse & Grill in Rotorua. My husband and I both got the pulled pork burger and my daughter ordered just the pulled pork meat while my son got the chicken tenders. For sides we ordered garlic bread, corn on the cob, and thick-cut chips. My kids are pretty picky and they were both very happy with all of the food we got. My hubby and I both loved the pulled pork burgers and all the sides. We enjoyed our meal very much with really friendly and attentive customer service. We actually wanted to eat here again but our time in Rotorua was fairly short so didnât get a chance.
