Once a satellite of Galway city, the village is now rapidly becoming one of its suburbs. But worth the side trip. We were 4 diners who had good meals including fish and chips, Guinness and Beef stew, and pasta and vegetables. I highly recommend the Guinness stew with a pint!Service was good and there were many options on the menu.One diner had the three cheese appetizer and loved it.No room for dessert.

Very cool Irish pub. We had dinner and drinks in the upstairs bar. Friendly staff...great food...very popular and AMAZING cocktails! Chilled atmosphere and live music every night of the week. We had to wait for a table which was no issue. Definitely check it out if in Galway.

We were looking for lunch and had tried 3-4 other places who were all full and weâre thankful they were because we got an excellent meal and a great conversation. It was a chilly day and the staff came downstairs and out the fire just for us. The chowder was excellent as was my wifeâs spiced pumpkin soup. We also shared a vegetable bowl with grilled halloumi which was very impressive. Seven is a must for excellent food and good value for money. We had a very good meal and loved the atmosphere. The chicken/broccoli pasta was amazing as was the hamburger and philly steak roll. It is very well situated to the central shopping area and we enjoyed a walk around there after dinner

The owner, who also runs the shop in town, with full disclosure, sent us here when we inquired about a place in Ballyvaughan to eat. It was delightful, delicious and satisfying. A good value as well. Our hotel recommended another place, but it had fewer choices and higher prices. Looked on TA and found this just a short walk away. The restaurant was not particularly busy when we arrived. The hostess seated us near a family of young children who were not being taught how to behave in a restaurant. Although we said nothing, the server could tell that the noise irritated us and asked us if we'd like to move to a quieter section of the restaurant, a most welcome suggestion.The food was excellent. We both ordered lamb, and it was perfectly prepared, appetizingly presented, and delicious. Seasoned just right, not over-spiced like too many restaurants tend to do to their food. Flavorful and tender, it was mouth-wateringly delicious. The server was helpful, friendly, and attentive without hovering. We felt neither ignored nor rushed during our meal. The table, chairs, dishes, glasses, and utensils were clean and in good condition. So glad we didn't take the hotel's suggestion to eat at another place, and discovered John Keogh's Gastropub instead!

We came across this pub by accident whilst looking for somewhere for an early evening meal. We're both vegetarians and sometimes struggle to find anything interesting but we had plenty of choice. When the food arrived it was tasty, well-presented and there was lots of it. The pub was busy, with customers of all ages, so it made for a great atmosphere. Sadly we couldn't try the beers because we were driving.

Good food, good selection on the menu, but it's pub grub.Pub is not the cleanest, sticky tables, tables are small and a lot stools not chairs.Disinterested waiting staff.Stairs everywhere, down to toilets and up to seating.If you want a quick meal with a pint, it's fine.

Three of us called in on a busy Wednesday evening. We had to wait about twenty minutes for a table - no problem. We were seated as promised and the menu was outlined to us most efficiently.Very good variety on the menu and we settled for Battered Fish and Chips, The Fish Special of the evening which was Hake and finally Killary Mussels. Glasses of wine for the ladies and water for the driver. The food was really good and served perfectly. Coffees followed and we were satisfied. The one disappointing feature was the cost of the glasses of wine at â¬8.60 a glass, which seemed excessive. Remarkable and very surprising given our previous experiences in this area.

Had a delicious meal here. Portions were great, good price value, fresh fresh food. Sauces not too heavy, recommend roast chicken if they have it or the darn of salmon. Wine list is reasonably priced. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed, we waited about 30 minutes for our check, but food was prompt.Warm and inviting decor, beautiful patio if weather permits.
