On our stay in Ella we ate and drank here twice because the food, staff and the very good live music (even playing requested songs) are really nice. The waiter is very helpful and caring, the food came quick and was very good. Directly on one of the main roads, nice to sit and watch during the happy hour as well. Udayanga bar is the one of two legal bar in ella.Then we can shell bottle of beer and all kind of liquor very cheap in ella.we are not charge any tax and services charge.

Great chilled out bar and the only place in Ella that we found with draft beer. Plus they're only 180 rupee making them the cheapest (and coldest) beers we found in town. Don't be fooled by the downstairs area - you need to go upstairs for the bar and restaurant.

Near mattey hat there is this cool and relaxed bar. Not that many tourists here, for now. probably, this secret bar will attract a lot of people once they know where to find it... the owner is very kind and helpful. not the normal ella-cashgrab.sehr lässige bar mit sehr nettem besitzer! nicht weit von mattey hat entfernt.

Stumbled on this restaurant at lunch time and was told they were serving lamprais. I was sceptical that it would be rice and curry just wrapped in a banana leaf for the tourist market ,but it was fabulous! Large portion of cashew curry and chicken, basically no skimping on size or flavour at all. Left the lamprais you can buy in Colombo sadly lacking...we were dreaming about it for hours after. Waitors like chaminda also Super helpful. A real pleasure. Highly recommend.

For avocado lovers: this is the place. Seriously, it's the best burrito and nachos in town. I was craving avocados... Well, Ella is basically avocado land and it's just the season! Then I saw this place online with someone mentioning a burrito.... and wow. The nachos are also fully loaded with avocado - you can eat them as a meal (like I did with a glass of some good red wine). The place is vegan and vegetarian friendly (even nachos and burrito is a good enough choice if nothing else) and the guys who work here are cool and well-spoken. It's super cozy upstairs, you can take your date here to eat with candle light and just chill on a couch watching the street from above. It's not a big place, good for small company - with relaxing music and cozy atmosphere. What can I say, for me the atmosphere is just icing on the cake cuz I came here for a burrito! If you are am avocado junkie just like me you will probably love this place.

Our first night in Ella we came as a family to Ellement and give it one of our best reviews. The atmosphere, friendly and attentive service from Kamal and very well prepared and tasty food made our experience perfect, which is why we rate it so high. Great stop for families and good place to chill out. Had a salad as a starter.. It was good but too little of what it promised.. Prawns and Avocado. Main was Couscous which was okay. The Kottu with seafood was nice. They added 10% service charge in the end
