We didn't dine in the restaurant but had a few drinks there on two separate evenings. The atmosphere is great, the building has kept much of its authenticity and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. I'm sure the food is excellent as well - it certainly looked great. We sat at the long bar counter and enjoyed the atmosphere.

Even off season it is popular. Lovely bar area. Food is really tasty. Great choice. Seafood platter was wonderful. Deserts are a great end to a perfect meal.

At O'Malley's Bar & Restaurant we serve the finest locally sourced produce which can be enjoyed whilst taking in the views of Clifden Bay and enjoying one of our renowned Irish traditional music sessions. We have traditional Irish music every evening duri
We had a brilliant meal here. It's a busy spot so I would recommend booking if you want to be sure of a table. We had a lovely view of the river out the back. The service was excellent and it was all reasonably priced.Thank you. Great to hear you enjoyed the view, service & meal

Mannion's Bar serves local seafood and traditional Irish cuisine in a welcoming and friendly bar setting. Enjoy the open turf fire on a wet day with our famous Connemara lamb Stew or or sit outside on a fine day with a bowl of Homemade Chowder or Steamed
We also chose Mannions Bar because they had early music at dinner time. The place was packed so we were seated in the back room, isolated from the music though we could hear it.The atmosphere was nothing like the main room, and took away from the experience with the bright lights and white tables. A small group of regulars were seated next to us, and were moved shortly after to a table on the other side. The 3 of us had the fish and chips, and it was good, but we had had better. The music was very good, but we couldn't see the musicians. In hindsight, we should have tried another restaurant with early music and main room seating.

We ordered the burger and the open seafood sandwich. Both sounded really good but were a huge disappointment. The sandwich was tasteless, the burger meat was terrible. It arrived burned and was a low quality industrial burger. We will definitely not return to this place ever again.Dear Kendstar,Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of EJ Kings. Naturally, it is very disappointing to read that you did not enjoy your dining experience with us on your recent visit. It is to our utter shock and dismay that the meal was not to your taste. As you can see from our many recent reviews, we are often commended on our standard of fare. As such, I would implore you to consider that this occasion was certainly not reflective of our norm. Should you have brought to the attention of the staff the fact that you were unhappy with your meal, we would have gladly and promptly replaced or rectified the dishes. We do hope that you reconsider and return to EJ Kings so as that we can show you the standard of food that we pride ourselves on. Warm Regards,Evie Faulkner

with spectacular views of Clifden bay this cafe bar offers a range of very reasonably priced homemade cuisine. Enjoy panaramic views at the waters edge and maybe sit out in the beer garden with a refreshing beverage. located only one mile from the centre
Had a few beers in the garden while watching the most amazing sunset. Back in the bar we shared a bowl of chips for a snack which were given to us 'on the house' which was a very nice gesture. Good beer, nice people and this is the best view in Clifden by far. We walked back into town in the dark-although the owner offered us a lift-but it was lovely to see the stars! The food looked very good, will try a meal next time for sure.

Always one of our favorites that has gotten even better. Damien Joyce, the owner/manager has made some improvements with a small remodel that gives more seating for those listening to the great local entertainers. They have early and late sessions so you can see great local entertainers early or late into the evening. The pub has a great mix of locals and visitors making for a fun evening. Super selection of Irish whiskeys and local beers on draught, including superbly poured Guinness! A donât miss venue for anyone visiting Clifden.

Guys Bar and snug is one of the oldest establishments in Clifden, serving a wide range of local dishes daily until 9pm. Evening traditional music sessions throughout the season. Late night music on Thurs/Fri and Sat. A selection of wines by the glass.
This place came recommended after our visit to Kylemore Abbey and it was excellent. All three us enjoyed our meals with a pint of Guinness and left extremely satisfied with the recommendation. This place is easy to find since it's right on the main street, the staff is very friendly and the restaurant has a good atmosphere and great bathrooms.I highly recommend Guys Bar.

A recent addition to the Clifden food scene Macdara's Bar & Restaurant is a small establishment looking over Clifden bay. Two vastly experienced chefs, coming together to help open a restaurant with the intentions of using locally sourced produce from loc
We drove up to Clifden via the Wild Atlantic Way and came across this cute town nestled between hils and the sea. After looking at TripAdvisor for restaurant recommendations, we decided on Macdara's and we were not dissaponted. The quaint style and great live music were amazing. The good was some of the best in Ireland that we had and the seafood chowder was the best my husband and I have ever had. For non seafood lovers (our daugther) there was a chicken pasta which was wonderful. You not only need to go to Clifde, you need to eat at Macdara's. There is a a beautiful patio out the back that overlooks the sea but we got there late and ate inside so we could listen to the music.
