A great experience! Greeted at the door, treated like proper customers - (addressed as sir/madam) - given a table immediately, poppadoms delivered within a couple of minutes, soft drink order offered (this place is not licensed but there is a Co-op nearby for alcohol purchases). Our order was taken and the food was excellent, very tasty, plenty of it, well impressed. it was also very reasonably priced. A free car park behind too.I hadn't been here for over 30 years but willc ertainly be making another visit very soon!

Been here a couple of times recently and been very impressed. Lye has some really good curry houses and this is one of them. I had Lassani (garlic chicken) to start which I highly recommend followed by a garlic Bahar. My wife had a Balti everything was really nice we will definitely return.

The four of us came here on Saturday evening. My partner and I had been here once before and I remember the restaurant having a lovely decor and the food being lovely. We all had the mixed kebab for a starter and the meats were cooked really nice they were tender and had a lot of flavour. My partner and I had lamb naga and a chilli chicken murgi we like our food quite hot. Both dishes were delicious and the cheese and garlic naan bread was very tasty too along with the mushroom rice. Our friends who had never been loved the food too. The staff were very polite and professional. Being able to bring your own alcohol too is good as it keeps the cost down. Highly recommend this place definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Will be coming again soon with our other friends.

Mixed Kebad and Chicken Shaslic for starters, really good. This followed by Lamb Balti Kha Chalonker Madras - couldn't taste madras heat - but still a tasty dish and Lamb Sizzling Chilli Tawa was really knock out! All served with Mushroom rice (very nice) and a 4 Seasons Nan without the chilli hit but still very good. Service was attentive and represented really good value for money.

Went last night there were 8 of us booked here. From start to finish it was just dreadful, let me tell you what happened. Firstly we ordered poppadoms they came out on one basket where it should be two due to there being 8 of us. No mango chutney either, we had to request this at an additional charge? Then we ordered the mains which took over an hour to arrive, when they did eventually arrive the order was wrong and the waiters kept bringing vegetable rice which no one had ordered. My rice was delivered with no main, I then waiting over 5 minutes for my main to arrive which was mango chicken, I asked for a plate as didn't want to eat it out of the dish. I waited a further 3 or 4 minutes for the plate which was used to present a side dish of potatoes to another person on our table, which I was very surprised at and definite no no in my book. By this time my rice was stone cold and when asked by the lady waitress if everything was OK, I informed her that my meal was cold, she replied oh, did nothing and walked away. They have installed call, pay, help buttons on the tables, great idea but no good if when you press it no one comes, we pressed it and then had the bill after we finished out mains and said that we wanted to order deserts. We asked for the desert menu three times with different waiters and then selected what we wanted a waiter came over and we started ordering he looked very blank at us. I suggested he got a pen and paper to ensure the order was taken correctly as we had a problem with the main order earlier. He went away and then some time later another waiter came over with pen and paper and took the order. He didn't seem clear on what we wanted either, so I clarified the order to him. The same waiter over the space of 40 odd minutes then returned no less than 5 times to tell us that they didnt have any mint ice cream, then they didn't have any cappuccinos, then they only had one mint ice cream, then they didnt have any black forest gateau, finally he came back and said they only had strawberry gateau. By this time we were totally perplexed and found the situation farcacle and we were laughing about it as there was nothing else you could do.We told the waiter to forget the desert order as we had all by this time lost our will to live and to get us the bill as it was after 10pm and we had been there since 6.45pm. We waited a further 10 minutes and then the deserts came over!!We then asked for the manager who came over and basically called us liars as he said why didn't you say the food was cold at the time, I replied I did and he said, to who? I pointed out the lady waitress who the manager called over and asked her and she denied this, which made me feel very uncomfortable indeed. We then mentioned about the fiasco with the deserts and he said I won't charge you for them, we also asked for a reduction of 20% off the bill due to the incorrect order on the main and he flatly refused this. He was very dismissive and said that we were laughing and having a good time. We replied that we were laughing at the sheer incompetence of the waiter and that's the only thing we could do in that circumstance. I then had to ask several times for the card machine to pay the bill, as we just wanted to leave, everyone else had paid by cash on our table. We have been to Maliks several times in the past and have had a good experience, but this time it was dreadful, it seems to have gone really downhill or perhaps had a change of owner, as I noticed that several of the lights are out above the tables and the service last night was truly terrible. It appeared that there are lots of staff but they seemed to be just walking around looking busy.We will not be rushing back here, next time we will be visiting the Bhano Pool in Rubery instead. John, thanks for your feedback and we are sorry to know about your dissatisfaction. We take all customer feedback very serious and follow up with immediate actions to improve our service. Points raised by you have been followed up with our responsible staff to ensure issues are addressed. We serve hundreds of very happy & satisfied customers every week and sometimes things do go wrong but at Maliks we always value our customerâs voice and try our best to improve Maliks experience.

Undaal Restaurant brings the ultimate, authentic fine dining experience. We are deeply committed to setting standards in excellence and quality, our traditional cuisine and impeccable service delivers just that!
My husband and I have been dining at Undaal for a very long time and our experience at Undaal has always been positive.Until recently I have noticed that the restaurant isnât busy during Friday and Saturday evenings, the staff and also a lot of the customers have been reduced, after finding out that the restaurant has been given a 1 STAR RATING for food hygiene I am absolutely shocked at how a restaurant went from a 3 star to a 1 star. The front of the restaurant and toilet is having renovation done however itâs a shame itâs been several months since the 1 star rating and nothing has been done to improve the restaurants food and hygiene rating which exceptionally matters the most.A message for the manager please STOP showing my husband and our friends the inside of your kitchen and how clean it is, until the food hygiene rating has changed we will not be dining at Undaal. Thank you for the time you have taken out to write this review, your views and comments are always appreciated.Firstly I would like to point out that the restaurant was given a 2-star rating, not 1, we have the stickers to proof this. The only reason we were given this rating was due to the fact that renovations were being carried out at the time of the visit. Things were a little untidy as you can understand but health and hygiene levels were maintained at all times. As you can see kitchen renovation is now complete and we are also working on toilets and rendering the building, all in time for the next health visitIn the meantime, if you can be a little patience it will be greatly appreciated

Visited with 4 friends on a Friday evening October 2019. This place is very popular. Book a table a few days in advance to avoid disappointment. The staff were friendly and the food came quickly. There is a good food selection on the menu. The meal I had was excellent, crispy chicken stir fry. No bottled real ales, only lager. This would be my only qualm. I will return.

I hadnât previously been here, having a preference for the very good food on offer at the Indian restaurant directly opposite. But I had been meaning to for ages, as this has always had a good report from others. If I am being honest I donât think it is quite as good as the competition, and yet still cost us £35 plus tip for a meal and drinks for two, and one of those was the special offer deal. But there were no complaints about the food at all - starters, naan and mains were all very enjoyable, and we had a very pleasant evening - seated and served quickly, offers of complimentary drinks at the end of the meal and very friendly staff when settling the bill. We didnât sit downstairs but I did have a quick peek down there as it is quite a unique setting, with the old brick and arches giving an intimate and atmospheric setting, and good to have the choice of this or the upstairs tables, and itâs great how the area for collecting takeaways is separated off from dining in.

Not even a free poppadom, raita and a very nicely presented salad is enough to save this place.Curry arrived lukewarm. Onion Bhajis were all gramflour and no onion, stodgy and dry.Curry was off the chefs favourites section (really?),rated as hot but was very mild No sign of any garlic when we ordered extra. No sauce to dip the naan into. Could only taste chicken,no hint of any herbs or spices. Both of us ended throwing it away, waste of £30.Worst but 1 curry I've ever had out of thousands and that 1 will never be beaten. I would be ashamed if I'd cooked that for someone. I would've tasted it first and started again.
