Went for a birthday celebration which got off to a bad start as our table was delayed by half an hour. It was very busy which is fine but as a result we were not asked for coffee, menu for desserts, asked if we wanted more drinks, if everything was ok..... ie the staff were too busy to be attentive. Had they come over to ask - I could have shown them the sugar cube which I found in my rice - 2cm x 1cm. This was not surprising as the coconut rice was so sweet it could have been a dessert dish. Although the decor was nice and it was reasonably priced, the food and lack of service put me off. Perhaps if they hadn't been so busy it would have been better...Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated. We hope to see you on a quieter night and we will assure you of the most attentive service.RegardsRuby

On 27.05.19, I took my children to my local restaurant for dinner. I was impressed by the food and it was much better than before under the new management. Mouthwatering sag chicken and savouring flavours. I really recommend Ginger, thanks to the chef for the wonderful food. Amazing service!

We arrived at ~7:30 pm and th eokace was empty. After having the food we can't understand why. Everything without fail was delicious. Prices were also very reasonable and staff were attentive. We started eating immediately because we were very hungry so my photos are a bit half eaten. We will return.

Visited The Raj on a Friday night with family, ordered a variety of mains and sides to share. Staff were friendly and the restaurant was warm and inviting. All the food was delicious and warm plates were given to keep food hot. After the meal we were given warm cloths, chocolate mints, orange segments to act as a palate cleanser and a small glass of Tia Maria.Cannot recommend highly enough and will be visiting again very soon!

Shahenshah is without a doubt the best Indian restaurant in Hertford. The food is consistent and well-cooked, with reasonable prices on most dishes. I also believe the staff to be friendly and helpful. My only issues with the place is the clientele, which on a weekend or a Friday night can include big parties of 'lads' out to get drunk. This really can't be helped, but it'd be nice if the staff tried to keep them from encroaching on other paying customers' meals. Personally I've only witnessed loud banter, but I've been told some real horror stories from other paying guests about guests who are too drunk and the inevitable effects of this.
