We came here for dinner - the place was fully crowded. The menu is limited, combination of Austrian classic and some creativity. I had soup with three dumplings - it was amazing - would come back for it anytime. The pork wiener schnitzel for the main was disappointing - they do it from fresh ingredients, but it is pan fried and was a bit thicker so it was tough - I prefer the crispy ones from the deep friers. The service was very friendly - the lovely young girls are doing a perfect job.Dear Mr. Ivo,thank you very - we are happy you had a good time at our place and we look Forward to welcome you again. Kind regards and happy new year 2019 - your Stadthotel brunner Team

Despite its rather industrial exterior this is a charming place to relax with a beer after skiing. The inside is done out in traditional Austrian rustic style, blending an authentic old building with a newer one. The staff are really friendly and he service and atmosphere very convivial. We really enjoyed our times here. We didnât try the food but itâs been well reviewed by others.

Brandalm is a Hut on the Dachstein. It is part of the series of Alms in the area and a good example of local eating and drinking. It is open in both summer and winter seasons. The location is stunning. It is on a bend on the path towards the Dachstein Gletscherbahn. The bend affords a great view into the valley below. In the summer it is a fabulous spot though the occasional gusts of wind can be a bit much for some of the sun canopies.Brandalm is a couple of buildings. One of them is something of an homage to the history of the Alms offering a fairly detailed description in German of the tradition involved. There is also a little children's play area. The hut itself is a nice enough wooden construction. It is not a beautiful bullding but it works. The internal area is clearly designed for the cold winter and has its own quirks downstairs. The food is ok. The most popular dish in the middle of the day in the summer was definitely Kaiserschmarr'n with apple sauce. It is not the best Kaiserschmarr'n. There are a range of other traditional Austrian dishes available. Huts are amazing places at the end of a long walk. Brandalm is not the end of the walk but is on the route. It is a really nice spot and has some good history around it but there are other nicer huts in the region.

You can sit here at a nice spot outside during dinner. Thanks to wind breakers, it's not getting cold there. The food is typically Austrian, and really good! The liver is awesome, and also the veil innarts are very excellent! Flavorful & delicious - the best Austrian food I had for a long time!

We were a group of tourists with one local German speaker. The waiters seemed somewhat polite but did not expect a German speaker amongst us who understood their derogatory remarks. Basically we should bring our money then go home. Schladming is full of restaurants, you don't need to come here to be disrespected by rude, arrogant young waiters who think no one speaks their language.

We had dinner at Braunhoferâs following a friendâs suggestion. We tried different types of meet (deer, mixed grill, chicken) and their carrotsâ soup, everything was really delicious. First choice Austrian ingredients, traditionally cooked and served with a smile. Make sure to reserve a table before going.

Menu with fantasy, local specialities (e.g. pumking seed and pumkin seed oil) rethought. Tradition and modenr flair perfectly combined. Relatively short menu with a lot vegetarian option, plus daily specials - always changing. Nice desserts. We were so satisfied on the first day, that came back on a second time. In high season I suggest to make a reservation, the place is popular. There is a cross contry ski track passing by, so you can make a stop there during the day, too.

THE FOOD: recommendable. Even me as a local I loved it! Had the "Tischlerei soup" which is a mix of many Austrian soups - very good. As a main I can recommend the Bull ("Schulterscherzel") - it was a very soft meat (cooked for 48hrs). As a desert we had the flower pot which reminded me of Pana Cotta. THE SERVICE: very friendly and attentive. Waitresses serve in the typical Austrian dress ("Dirndl").THE VENUE: very pretty. They managed to incorporate modern interior design into the Austrian wooden style.

My husband and I celebrated our 60th birthday at this quaint restaurant on the mountain. We planned the occasion from our home in South Africa and the evening exceeded our expectations. From the time we were fetched and transported to Sonnenalm we were welcomed as if we were family. Service, incredible food, fun and laughter together with their hospitality made for an evening we will never forget. Each morsel of food was so evidently lovingly prepared and presented. Homemade schnapps, handcrafted puzzle type games, chatting to the family and traditional music added to the magic of the evening. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for everything. We will dream of the day we can return.
