On an unusually cold, windy day we arrived in Graz and wanted a late afternoon lunch/early dinner. Stainzerbauer was perfect. Locals were eating here, some even in Styrian attire. The food is not inexpensive, but for the quality, itâs warranted. The weinerschnitzel was crispy, large portion, and came with a large cut lemon (not a tiny slice as sometimes), and a tangy sauce that is the local berry similar to cranberry but smaller. I chose a green salad instead of potatoes, with dressing of âKürbiskernolâ, a black-greenish local oil (nutty and tasty). Husband had chicken stuffed with sheep cheese, potatoes, vegetables. The local beer was good, too. Waiter spoke English, was kind, and took our photo.

Staff friendly and attentive, no problem getting a nice table for six without reservation. Menus in both englisch or german. Had the Backhendl and it really could have served 2 people generously. It was really delicious ,tender and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The potato and Vogerlsalat with the pumpkinseed oil and the Käferbohnen salad were excellent . The vegetarian dish of goat cheese toast and salad was very tasty . And the Wienerschnitzel with parsleyed potatoes was excellent also. We could not enjoy any of the desserts offered because we were too full from all the delicious eats. Certainly a good spot for authentic Austrian food.Dear Ingrid,Thank you for your nice words. Needed a quick dinner at a place suitable for children and this one poped up based on reviews. The BBQ plate and schnitzel were delicious. You have to try the 3 pates appetizer. Not too pricey for the location it's at. It can get busy so plan accordingly.

A seemingly busy evening locally and we 3 managed to squeeze in on the ground floor and one of the highter table and stools.They serve beir from a mini brewery which was nice.Meal was: 2 large biers, white wine spritzer, Chefburger, Käsepatzle, Kürbislasagne a mixed salad and an Apple Strudel dessert with one coffe came to Eur 55.80. Quite content, good atmosphere and service.

My first impression by entering this restaurant: WAUW! Really beautiful and modern restaurant, something you would not expect in austria in a 'Schloss'. There is also a possibility to dine outside, we chose to dine inside, although almost everyone was dining outside at this particular evening, was the atmosphere in the restaurant itself still very good.The waiters were very friendly and professional, my wineglass was never empty during the evening which is a good thing!They have an austrian cuisine but with a modern touch! really good and tastefull. Thank you all employees of the Aiola im Schloss for the perfect evening!

Centrally located, a stone away from the Joaneum Museum we had visited just before, we , a group of girl friends, chose the Welscher Stub'n to have a lunch and chat. We were not disappointed, we were given a cozy Corner and we spent an excellent time . The service was quick and very friendly, we liked the food. We all chose different salads as a main dish, it was a good choice. Everything was as it should be and the prices very reasonable. We stayed quite long and nobody objected. A good place for a group indeed!

Definetly a premium choice in Graz. Nice location with a breathtaking view. Food is very good. Service good but not top. May be because we got the one table close to the kitchen but still at the window.
