I had a couple of hours to kill in Wonthaggi and asked a local where was the best place to have breakfast. His recommendation was the Hicksborough Store. Itâs a little out of town but I had time on my side.This small general store doubles as a breakfast/lunch cafe. I immediately felt comfortable and was cheered by the ownerâs friendly greeting.I started with a comforting coffee while my breakfast was being prepared. My eggs were cooked to order and as I hate soggy toast I was delighted that the toast was also to order.As my first coffee was a delight, I doubled up.A great spot that I would certainly visit again

The effort put into the entrance of the establishment requires a 5. Loved all the large wood beams used throughout, giving a rustic/modern bistro area. Compliments and thanks to the chef for the creamy garlic sauce, was beautiful. Staff were all polite and attentive and meals were satisfactory, a little dressing on the salad wouldnât go astray. Kids and separate toddlers playgrounds.

Was an awesome meal along with an extensive menu has a great atmosphere, Usually have live music on a Friday or saturday night. The staff are always accommodating and make your visit a good outing. I strongly recommend a night out to enjoy the live music.

I have a lot of dietary requirements and the staff here were and are very gracious and understanding of dietary issues, went above and beyond my expectations to adhere to my intolerances and allergies.When I visit Wonthaggi again I will most definitely be back here I highly recommend this venue for dining.Reasonable pricingMy meal was cooked perfectlyStaff are friendly and very helpfulVery accommodating of allergies and food intolerances it does help the restaurants if you make a business card like I have with your allergies and intolerances for venues to use. We often stop here for a meal when doing business in and around Wonthaggi. The food is always good and of consistent quality, there are lots of specials, the service is friendly and welcoming and the club is always clean. We have been coming here for ages but have only recently joined the My Club. The menu is quite extensive with special offers for each day of the week, a children's menu, a seniors menu and a full dinner menu. The prices are very reasonable for each category, we joined the club for a very low annual fee because on top of the low prices we also receive discounts and points towards special offers. All of the staff are happy to help you with any queries you might have, so pop in and see what you think.
