Jedder Bar Food Van is a new arrival on the scene in Lyonville, Victoria. The owner is a qualified chef and this is a new venture for him. For our first meal from there we had creme of parsnip soup and beaf and burgandy casserole with vegies. Both items were extremely tasty and moorish. Jedder Bar is on site outside the Lyonville Hall every Wednesday evening from 5pm onwards. Lyonville is approx 14 kms from Daylesford and 8kms from Trentham on the Daylesford Trentham Road Lyonville. So if you are in the area and do not feel like cooking make sure you get along and try this delicious food.

2 couples, 4 children, reservations made well in advance. Childrenâs meals came out promptly, yet the Adult meals despite being ordered within minutes of the childrenâs came 1.5 hours after our order. 2 orders of salad with scallops- inedible due to 50% of scallops being essentially raw. Rest of the food that was ordered was average. Apologies were made for the delays in receiving our meals, but 0 concessions made to our experience. There are many places to eat on the area with great food and service. Give this one a miss and try something else if your hungry. Ambiance and setting however was nice.

Dropped into Trentham after leaving Daylesford a little disillusioned by the tourist-trap of the Goldfields. We found this spot cosy and welcoming on a rainy Sunday. Quirky, lovely open fire, wonderful warm scones with quince and blood orange home made jam and plenty of cream. Coffee was great. Good range of herbal teas. Enjoyed looking at the eclectic mix of homewares - would have liked to buy a pot of the jam, but it wasnât available. Would be nice for a lazy afternoon glass of wine and a chat or read of the newspaper (lots of reading material on offer for customers to browse through). If you are looking for something more local, friendlier and more authentic - try Trentham instead of Daylesford as itâs so much more interesting, on every level.

This historic hotel was almost totally destroyed by fire 10 years ago, the owner has completely restored it. Three of us attended on a winter's afternoon. The first thing that greeted us was a warm fire and a warm welcome from the staff. There was an interesting and varied menu, one of us had a waygu beef steak and the other two had waygu hamburgers. There were plenty of vegan options. The service was quick and pleasant and the meals were excellent. Afterwards we had a quiet drink close to the fire. We were particularly impressed that the owner came out to talk to us and get our feedback. Could not fault anything and we will definitely be back.

A friendly, warm vibe everytime you walk in the door! I love the porridge, the coffee, the freshly baked cakes & most of all the service . I travel from Daylesford every week just to enjoy the vibe & eat the porridge! Highly recommend a visit next time you are in Trentham

The Plough @ Trentham is located approximately 20 minutes drive from Daylesford, Kyneton or Woodend. We invite you to experience our hospitality and great customer service. We source seasonal produce to enhance and direct our menus and, as a result, they
Drove up for lunch with the Wife, greeted by the lovely smiling Charle who sat us next to the open fire. Ordered a nice House Red Merlot (delicious, pity I was driving) and ordered the Chicken pate to share. Charle was great to talk with as we waited. Pate was fantastic. Served with crisp lightly toasted bred and small salad. It was quite a large serving.Taste was perfect. I ordered the Pie of the Day, Kangaroo and Mushroom and the Wife had Linguini. Both meals were excellent and extremely tasty. We were the only customers at the time in the Bistro area but there were others in the dining room area. All in all a lovely place to go for lunch or dinner, friendly staff and nice and warm.Highly recommended. Very good value for your money.

Beautiful delicious food - mouth watering. Annie is gorgeous and a delight! Toasty warm fire very welcome in winter! French onion soup delicious. Duck beautiful - wanted more portions though for 4 and a little more sauce to go around. My only complaint is serving of the wine - slopped on the table and spilt down teh back of one of our diners. Turn the bottle gently as you lift it.
