Stopped here for lunch, it started to snow, so music was changed to encourage more, i.e. Let it Snow, by Frank Sinatra... what more could you want... there's a great selection for an on mountain feed. The egg & bacon roll its the best I've eaten... ever. Hope to try the chilli hot chocolate and pretzel next run down high noon. Shame there's no rest rooms..

Although this is an ideal place for a sit down lunch in beautiful surroundings, we were just stopping for a coffee and it was perfect. Just step out of your skis at the door and enter a European style chalet. The view all around of the slopes is delightful and with plenty of sunshine lighting up the area. The coffee was excellent- the best all week. The Austrian style pretzels were also good. Hi Travel_addict13_10, We are glad you enjoyed your time at Kareela Hutte and we thank you for your insight. We look forward to welcoming you back next winter. Warm regardsThe Kareela Team!

This is the place to mix with the mountain locals. Watch football, play pool, gain some mountain insight from the home-grown crew and sip your favourite drink on Thredboâs biggest balcony. We serve tasty Australian pub dishes, hearty meals and daily speci
Ordered the French onion soup today. What arrived was a bowl of brown, thick, gelatinised, luke-warmfatty gloop. No other way to describe this. Was like pig swill. I sent it back and asked them to thin it down (so that I could at least use a spoon) and heat it up. They did. Not much better. If you can remember your mum adding Gravox powder to the fat from a roast, just throw in lots of onion and that's pretty much what they served up. Prison food would even be better. Best avoided.

We dropped into Casades restaurant for breakfast and were disappointed with our egg and bacon roll which was basically covered and dripping in sauce. The coffee was pretty bad too. The actual Alpine Hotel decor reminded me of the 70âs. We were planning to stay at the Alpine Hotel but changed our minds at the last minute. Iâm glad we did as the hotel also seemed to cater to large tour groups whom took up most of the breakfast room.

We ski at Thredbo every year and at the Bakery you can grab a quick hot bite, sandwich, loaf of bread, bread rolls or something sweet. The pies are nice and you can get a hot chocolate or coffee. Donât look to closely at the cleanliness of the kitchen or the floors as it could be a lot cleaner. You can sit inside or outside.

Against the stunning backdrop of the snowy mountains the Terrace Restaurant awaits you, offering a unique and casual dinning experience. The food is simple and wholesome, just what is needed after a long day on the hill. Sit back and relax, enjoy the
Enjoyed the Apres Bar a couple of nights before so thought we would try the restaurant upstairs for our last night in Thredbo. Disappointing and expensive meal ... pumpkin risotto was tasteless with large pieces of nut over the top and steak average: both served warm. Staff at reception were efficient but stand offish and our waitress was unfortunately very loud and drew attention to the table whenever she approached. Being asked for a âgratuityâ loudly is a bit off putting..... happily popped $10 in the jar at a different restaurant the night before after some very genuine service and tasty food without being stood over at the table. Donât believe the hype for this one!

Thredbo's original burger bar at the Knickerbocker, offering a menu of mouth-watering burgers, delicious chicken wings, fall off the bone ribs, comfort food and a full bar!
My husband and I were looking forward to a decent burger. After a full day skiing. Unfortunately we were left disappointed. There was no option for fish burgers despite the menu. The chicken burgers we ordered were expensive and average (under-seasoned, onion jam too sweet, too much ?aioli). Plus my chicken breast was slightly undercooked. The service was fine. To top it all off there was a credit card fee which did not correspond to the 1.5% stated by the waiter. Will not return. Would not recommend.
