Gov's Sports Bar

Reviewed By MattTheChilliKing

My missus and I, at a loss for where to go for dinner noticed in the information pamphlet that Gov’s Sports bar was having a quiz night, that very night. Why not, we thought and went along, entered as just duo and took on all the tables full of boomers. I came up with what I thought was an hilarious team name ‘Trivially hirsute” (Because at the time I had a sketchy beard and moustache) but my missus didn’t think the pun was that good but allowed us to be called ‘Trivially Hirsute and Wife’- which the MC constantly mispronounced thereby kind of ruining the joke anyway. They serve good, ice cold local WA beer and decent pub grub. The atmosphere was friendly and laid back. Not to brag but out of the 14 teams that entered (most of which had 4 or more 40yo plus quizzers) we ended up coming 4th. Full of pride we walked home thoroughly satisfied with ourselves and Gov’s Sports bar itself. Dear MattTheChilliKing,Thank you for your recent review, Our Tuesday Trivia night continues to prove popular and is a must do event when visiting Rottnest. Congratulations on coming in 4th. We look forward to seeing you again on your next visit to Rottnest.Kind RegardsManagement

Pinky's Beach Club

Lovely lunch in a terrific spot on the first warm day of our stay. Service friendly and efficient. Atmosphere pretty laid back and casual; music not intrusive.Amused by the pink theme with the food and dinnerware, we also chose a matching pink wine. Pink bun on my cheeseburger was fun; tasting plate had some pink pickled radish; both were fairly tasty. No complaints. Will probably need more shade for the coming busy summer.Thank you so much for your kind words Duncan, we're thrilled you rated your recent Pinky's Beach Club experiences so highly and enjoyed our pink themed menu items - we’ll will be sure to pass your complement on to our Chef! Thanks too for your shade feedback, we have passed this on to or management team for review. With the days getting longer and the warmer weather only months away, we'd love you to come back and see us again at our absolute best! Thanks, the Pinky’s Beach Club team.

I had the crumbed deep fried prawns and they were very overcooked, tough and had not been cleaned properly. My husband had a burger and it was very ordinary. I was surprised as they have good reviews, perhaps due to this being the only place in town to eat? Not impressed, I would not bother returning.

Just back from a bike ride & dying for a beer. Staff were very friendly and allowed us to remain on the beautiful balcony past closing time, but it would have been nice to have food as well. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your recent Thomsons Restaurant experience. At Thomsons Rottnest, it is our mission to surprise and delight our customers offering the food and service you wouldn’t normally expect, while still remaining quintessentially Rottnest. We're delighted we lived up to this promise, with good quality drinks and attentive & cheery staff. Apologies our service times: Lunch, 7 days 11:20am - 4pm and Dinner, Friday & Saturday 5:30pm - 8:30pm prevented you from dining with us. We'll be sure to pass this feedback on to our Management team and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future. Kind Regards, the Thomsons Restaurant team.
