Beautifully restored hotel with a great menu and wine list. A significant weekend crowd. Old fashioned service and the option to sit and relax on the back lawn area overlooking the hills with the black and white cows and pristine water catchment areas. Bookings for lunch are advised. Great entrees and mains - not cheap but good quality.
We had a delightful Sunday Lunch at the Robertson Bowling club Peggys Bistro. We booked a table for lunch because it was the closest restaurant for us to walk our elderly dad from the train station, after enjoying the Heritage Train Trip called the Cockatoo run from Sydney. We were glad we booked a table because it was very busy. The staff were very helpful and the food servings were generous. It was also a very pleasant surprise that there was live entertainment. One Sunday a month local students are given an opportunity to perform. It was a very enjoyable experience .

We lunched recently at Lucindas and while it was difficult choosing from the tempting pastries, cakes, salads on display we choose the soup of the day and a chicken and mushroom pie which were both delicious.Lucindas is relatively new to Robertson but we have come across her beautiful food previously in Bowral and Mittagong in the Southern Highlands. We also grabbed some muffins to take home and they were scrumptious. If in Robertson, treat yourself, we certainly will.

The club is just a club, but the locals were very warm and welcoming. The dining room is basic, but the food is sensational! Fantastic, authentic Thai cuisine, prepared by a trained chef. So good we went back the next night. We met with friends and enjoyed delicious Penang Curry, stir-fried seafood, Mussaman beef, wonderful Pad Thai with meaty prawns, oh-so-tender Thai beef and the best Nasi Goreng outside Indonesia. Be sure to ask for an egg on top and peanut sauce on the side. For those diners not enchanted by Asian food, there was a really good selection of Aussie food, however, this too was well above average fare. No frozen stuff! The chips are made on-site from the local, famous Robertson potatoes. Our order for chicken schnitzel took just a fraction longer, because Chef made it from scratch - pounding the chicken breast, crumbing and frying, right before our eyes. Delicious and fresh. This place is something outside the box. Hope the Robertson residents realise what a gem they have!

The ricotta pancakes with bacon, caramel butter and honey cream was heavenly. My husband had pork sausages, beans and a side if mushrooms which he said were great. Coffee was lovely, service was exactly what one would want it to be - friendly and professional. All in all a really enjoyable breakfast. Happily recommend this cafe for breakfast.

Historic 1867 General Store and restaurant in the pretty village of Burrawang in the Southern Highlands of NSW Australia. Open 8am to 4pm every day. Breakfast all day. Lunch until closing. Dine on the sunny veranda, enjoy a cocktail in the shady garden or
On a freezing Sunday, this possy was chosen mostly becauase it boasts a fireplace in the middle of the restaurant and I had not tried it in sometime. Unfortunately due to the wind, the front doors kept swinging open so the effect of the fireplace was quite lost. The chef's are the hero of the dish but the waitstaff can make or break the experience and no matter how good the food is, is the service is wanting, then the overall experience suffers. Unfortunately this was the case this time. Our waiter questioned us sitting at the table after another staff member had seated us. He then was quite unsure of the menu and proceedings. We ordered to be told sometime later that they had run out of what we wanted and we had to reorder which meant quite a wait for food (was busy). But then an hour later I sat and watched later arrivals be served up the exact dish we told was unavailable...... The replacement dish of burramundi however was really tasting and would definately order again and the dessert was perfect for a winter dessert.I am quite sure on a another visit, and I am prepared to give it another go - there is the potential to increase the rating - but for this time, it was somewhat disappointing until next time.....Perfect Winter Dessert and a Barramundi dish worth reordering! That's great news! You are so right about the chefs...they did an awesome job on Sunday...every day actually. Unfortunately, you weren't the only guests who came out, despite the severe wind warnings, to enjoy the fireplace and we did our best to keep it stoked up all day and keep our guests comfortable. We always do. We were fully booked and we also did our best to seat everyone who just turned up. We did have to keep a very close eye on the tables and people who might just pop on a table and hope for the best. Sorry that our question as to whether you had been seated correctly was a problem for you...we never intend to offend. As to the dish that was suddenly available after a period of time? We do run out of the specials occasionally but the kitchen can replenish if they have the time as they did on Sunday. We can only control so much and where we can we do. Some understanding of this would be greatly appreciated. See you again soon.

We have our famous 150 seat restaurant, complete with exposed beams and open fires for that genuine country feel. However, our head chef - Jeff Henry - is a two hat trained chef and has created a gastro-pub menu with all the pub favourites, done better th
Once again the Robertson Inn has changed hands and whilst itâs good to know that the previous, very aggressive owner, is no longer in evidence, not much else has changed. Yet another overly complicated gastro-pub menu, put together without much understanding of food, and cooked indifferently. The antipasto/cheese board is definitely something to avoid - what is black tahini doing with antipasto? And some bits of dried out cheese and cold cuts from the back of the fridge do not make an antipasto platter. A schnitzel arrived raw on the inside but burnt on the outside, with a pile of wilted salad leaves, some of which were actually moldy. My husbandâs pork belly managed to be both greasy and dry, a truly remarkable achievement. It was served with nothing - Iâm not kidding. Just a slab of undercooked pork belly, swimming in grease and so tough it couldnât be eaten, plonked on a plate with a couple of snowpea sprouts as garnish. No one can say I donât keep trying to give this place a fair go but I give up. Iâve tried to get a decent meal at this place for over 20 years now and the only thing that has been consistent about the Robertson Inn is itâs ongoing commitment to mediocrity. This is the last time.

We ordered a couple of pizzas and asked about dairy-free options. Basically we had to have pizzas without the cheese which made them a little dry and flavourless. Thatâs fine, but after trying some of the dairy-free pizzas in other places they can be done very well. Maybe thereâs hope as they do offer gluten-free options. Staff were friendly though and itâs a lovely little location.
