We visited the restaurant for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The waiting staff were very cheerful, welcoming and helpful. The food was freshly prepared, creatively presented and delicious. Dietary requirements were met without any hassle or problem. Drink service was a tad slow. The ambience of the restaurant was affected by a noisey kitchen. The desserts were delivered with the words HAPPY ANNIVERSARY written with chocolate sauce on the plates; nice touch.

We stay in Queanbeyan regularly. I again ordered breakfast today (15/5), and was not disappointed. I usually order by telephone and head to the cafe to collect my order which is always two egg, bacon and salad rolls and a flat white coffee, extra hot and no froth. Always service with a smile and always delicious. Renovations of cafe look terrific.

We arrived just in time to get a small table for two. The choice of meals is wide. Our food consisted of the Bacon Rosti (Eggs Benedict on a Rosti) excellent flavour and quantity. My wife had the Zucchini Balls which were light and fluffy and had a very pleasant flavour. We will certainly return.

Great meal . There was a lot of choices and daily specials. The service was friendly and prompt. Would recommend the restaurant.
Dropped in for a quick afternoon coffee fix, very glad we did. We were met by two smiling gents who not only took the order but genuinely made you feel welcome. The coffee was great but what stood out was how clean and presentable the cafe is. Recommended for a visit.

Situated in the heart of the thriving country town of Queanbeyan, The Tourist Hotel is steeped in tradition. Only minutes from Canberra, Queanbeyan boasts country living with city benefits which the Tourist aims to reflect in it's dedication to our locals
Called in for lunch on our way home to the bay and were not dissappointed in any way. The staff were so courteous, friendly and efficient. The luch specials were a delight to see and the meals were very high quality and generous. I had the rissoles and mash the rissoles were the best I have had for a while. Mash was obviously made from real potatos and the vegetables were deep colouful and tastey. The big hit was ginger beer on tap which was delicious. They also have a great little nook which can be sectioned off with curtains for a family gathering up to about 30 people.

While there is little ambience the meals well and truly make up for it.The regular menu has gourmet meals as well as regular pub classics and some imaginative black board specials. The surf and turf with soft shell crab is to die for as are the oysters Kilpatrick. The snitzels are huge, I have mine with pepper sauce which is probably one of the best pepper sauces I've ever had. There is an actual restaurant which is busy and noisy and a large area set up inside the pub or outside when the weather is nice. I would recommend booking especially for large groups.

We will be closed from Christmas Day (25th December) until the 5th of January 2018. Merry Christmas, have a wonderful year.
On previous visits to Queanbeyan I've not been able to get into The Mill House Cafe as it's either been crowded or poor weather and with most seating outside, I wasn't going there! It's always very popular & crowded. It seems a little disorganised; I ordered at 11:58am but there were only breakfast menus available and they were hidden away in a corner behind the line up waiting to play e orders: maybe you have to wait till exactly 12 noon for lunch menus? Staff were running around very busily. I ordered eggs Benedict but was told that their Hollandaise sauce wasn't gluten free; disappointing when they advertise gluten free options and many places now have gluten free Hollandaise due to high demand: I eat gluten free by necessity, not by choice. Eggs Benedict was beautiful with freshly carved ham, wilted spinach & perfectly cooked (soft) eggs: delicious, however not enough to compensate for the deficiencies in my book; disappointing :(

What a huge menu to choose from! Pizzas, steaks, seafood, pastas ....great kidâs menu as well. Classic pub bistro but hey you can have veggies and mash if you donât feel like chips and salad! decent prices, lovely atmosphere, quick service, excellent bar variety to go with the meals. Eat inside or out and live music most nights after dinner. Keep it up Royal!
