Once you find this place (in Grey Street) you enter a whole new world. Away from the funkiness of many other cafes, this is a gorgeous place to come and have a meal. Today I had the waffles - OMG they were amazing. And then served a coffee that the barissta should be given a gold medal. The staff were lovely and seemed to enjoy working at Miss Jackson. However, service can be slow. Takeaway available. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Pram/stroller accessible. Parking is okay.

Breakfast at the Galleon was just fantastic. The porridge with fruit as worth it alone, but then I had to have the tofu scramble too, couldn't miss out on that--just great! Tea was very good and the atmosphere is friendly and the staff are attentive.

Squires Loft, The Steak Specialists, have proudly been serving steaks for over 20 years. The corner stone of our success is our proprietary sauces and baste, custom built grills allowing for a unique cooking process that creates an incredible taste profil
We arrived at Squires Loft at 9:10 pm, grateful that they close later than most restaurants in the area. We sat upstairs where the sound of conversations was very loud when tables are more than half occupied. Their warm sourdough bread with butter was delicious. We had a glass of D'arenberg Noble Wrinkle Riesling that was very sweet and reasonably priced. We shared an order of 2 racks of pork ribs and chips. The ribs were delicious and tender, and we recommend them. The price was on the high side of reasonable. Service was friendly and prompt. We feel Squires is a very good value.

A short walk from the Prahran Market on Commercial Road, this buzzing little restaurant is an absolute winner. We hadnât booked but they still managed to find us a place on the outside large, undercover and heated, communal table. Excellent spot. Quieter to allow for quiet conversation. Our food was excellent. The Spicy Morrocan Chicken and the NZ Smoked Salmon all day breakfast meal absolutely good value and delicious. Perfectly accompanied by a glass of Savignon Blanc each. Highly recommended.

Return visit - still friendly & enthusiastic service, excellent (healthy) food - something for everyone i.e. vegan, vegetarian or carnivore, relaxed atmosphere, open (& busy) kitchen, small but good value wine list. Highly recommended.

What we do here at St. LuJa is bring a venue with a home away from home feel, with excellent service, banter and some of the best cocktails in Melbourne without being pretentious and great food too. The guest is number one and we like to get to know the p

We came for an early fatherâs day celebration on Sunday 25th August. Very disappointed with the service. We ordered 3 wine flights and 1 whisky flight, and a farmer grazer platter. Our experience started with the waiter spilling water all over the table, but not returning to clean it up. We the received the wrong order 4 wine flights. We had to wait 15 minutes for this to be fixed. Half way through our experience I realised the serving size of the cheese that I received was only a third at best as those who also had the same large serve wine flight. The waiter then appeared to top up our water and proceeded to drip it all over our basket of bread and crackers making everything soggy. I raised the portion size issue and it was blatantly ignored. In order to make the most of our celebrations I left it. But I would not recommend this as the 5 star experience it professes to be. Aside from this Iâve tasted better Australian wine and cheeses and whisky than what they had on offer. The pairings however were done well. Something I can say weâve now done, however their was no consistency and poor service so I would not bother to go again. When 5he waiter pulls out a note book and reads ad nauseous from his own scribbled notes to describe what you are about to taste is warning enough! I wish I could say I was alone on my review however the table behind us had much the same comments!Oh dear... Eirene, we hate hearing this was your experience. We are very sorry. It sounds like you might have had one of our newer staff members. Sunday was extremely busy for us and caught us off guard, so our more senior staff probably weren't as present as they should have been to advise our new staff member. We will have a chat to the entire team about this, as this is simply not the level of service we abide at Milk the Cow. Honest mistakes are one thing, not fixing them when you've clearly given them the opportunity is another entirely. We're very disappointed. Would you mind emailing our office with your details so we can follow up with you personally? As for the quality of our cheeses and whiskies, we may have to agree to disagree... we stock some of the most-awarded artisan products from both Australia and around the world, and if the ones you had were not to your taste there are definitely other options in our cabinet! With 180 cheeses to choose from and an extensive beverage list, there's something to appeal to every discerning palate. We hope we can tempt you to give us another chance to prove how good we can be.

Woodland House is the collaboration between two of Melbourne's finest young chefs, Thomas Woods and Hayden McFarland. A united culinary force, they have created an innovative, energetic and produce-based cuisine of their very own.
We at the degustation menu with matching wines ... from start to finish we were underwhelmed by both the food and service. The whole place lacks atmosphere: soulless grey decor. The waiting staff were well-meaning but not up to the standard I expect from a restaurant of this standard. Of all the staff we saw, one was a native English speaker (and he didnât serve us) the rest were heavily accented, which made it hard to discern what we were being fed. We repeatedly referred to the menu for hints. A couple of the waiting staff also seemed very inexperienced and couldnât respond to relatively simple questions from us and other patrons. One Chinese couple, with excellent English, tried to make a request about the cheese course but eventually gave up trying to make themselves understood. One exception to this was the Italian (I think) sommelier who was articulate and well-informed (though I didnât agree with some of the pairings!).The menu seemed oddly sparse in information. The main ingredient in the poached calamari, for example, was poached fennel. This was quite tasty, but also a complete surprise. Why not mention it?!The food itself was variable, to say the least. A couple of quite interesting tastes - the scallop was lovely, as was the wallaby, but much of it was bland and/or under-seasoned. Not worth the money by any measure.Having recently been to Attica, which has some similarities in terms of menu style, we had high hopes of another evening of delicious food and informative service. This delivered neither. Save your money and go somewhere else - or getting organised (and get saving) and go to Attica if you want food and service worth the price tag.
