Discover Restaurants offering the best Australian food in Norfolk Island, Australia. At first glance, it’s hard to believe that vibrant Norfolk Island could have a dark past. Yet during the 19th century, the now-peaceful Australian retreat was a convict colony, home to criminals who’d been banished into exile. Today, the archaeological remains of the penal colony have UNESCO World Heritage status and are revered for their historical significance. You can visit the settlement’s remains, an eerie yet beautiful collection that includes a jail, a cemetery, lumbar yard and salt house.

We were a little worried about dining at Barney Duffyâs Grill especially after reading the TA reviews. However, we did enjoy our steaks, although the wine list was extremely limited. This restaurant would make an excellent BYO which would be greatly appreciated by others. Yes, the restaurant does need a good clean but we enjoyed talking to the chef about Norfolk. Overall-We found Barney Duffyâs steak better than the Bowling club. Decor needs improvement & updated.

Black anchor bar is a new addition to the much-needed nightlife of Burnt Pine Village. It's open Thursday to Sunday from 5 pm. The bar offers craft beers, cocktails and interesting spirits. It's very popular and a great place to meet the locals & mingle with the tourists. Thank you for your review Elle! We love being the spot for tourists to mingle with locals, so many crazy adventures on Norfolk have started with people meeting at the bar over a few cocktails. Thanks for stopping by!

This beautifully restored house is the centrepiece at Governor's Lodge offering gorgeous surrounds, fine cuisine, Chef's specials and a dining experience to always remember. What a perfect place to enjoy lunch floating on the original flagstone verandah.
Only open for 3 nights whilst we were staying at the Governors Lodge so only dined here once. Very nice, good sized meals & reasonnably priced. Loved the happy hour prior to dining here. On arrival offered a complimentary champagne which we enjoyed before having our yummyToblerone.

Honest. Tasty. Food. Welcome to our cafe where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and anything in between.
This cafe is on the main road running through Burnt Pine, so you can't miss it.We called in for a coffee one morning but sadly found it lacking in flavour. A nice Asian gentleman runs the cafe but I think that they need a good Barista. There are much better places to enjoy a coffee near by.Thank you for taking the time to write the review. And I am sorry for your disappointment with the coffee - most of the time we get great feedback about our barista coffee. We have taken your comment on board and will do better next time :)

I wasn't quite sure what to expect here. We went in intending to just have coffee and a bite, but ended up eating lunch because we couldn't resist the tasty treats on offer! Thankfully we beat the crowds, as it seems popular with tourists and locals alike.

We enjoyed a lovely evening at Dinoâs. The cute weatherboard house has a country rural setting which makes the whole dinner experience more appealing. Our meal was equally interesting with a shared mezzo plate which was delicious. Our mains consisted of a ribeye steak & a vegetarian lasagna which were both tasty. The steak was cooked to perfection. We finished our meal off with Homemade Turkish delight ice cream & a affogato. Overall - country rustic atmosphere with attentive staff and friendly service. The food homely, creative and delicious.

While visiting Norfolk Island with family, we stumbled on this wonderful restaurant and cafe. There was 10 of us in the group and the staff easily catered for us by putting tables together outside in the garden area and we ordered tea/ coffee and scones for morning tea. The tea and coffee was excellent and honestly weâve never tasted better scones! They were huge serves with lovely whipped cream and a beautiful home made jam. The scones were so light and fluffy and the flavour was perfect. We had heard such great reviews about their meals but unfortunately it was our last day and we didnât get time to go back. Highly recommend and if we visit Norfolk again, this restaurant will be on the top of the list!
