Perfect weather ... sun was shining ... breeze blowing... as our group stepped into the hotel and through to a decking area with stunning views. This is an Aussie pub done well. Service was a bit slow at the bar ... but otherwise it was good . I had a schnitzel- it was really nice . Sitting on the deck with views is something that's worth stopping for .

A truly unique venue in a remarkable setting. Rustic menu, featuring local produce. All Pasta is hand made on site. Venue available for events and special occasions. Open Thursday - Sunday from 5.00pm and additional times by request.
The seafood pasta was highly recommended but failed to deliver! Little seafood included, mostly sauce. Pasta was slightly over cooked. Very expensive for little reward.Thank you for your feedback. We will certainly take your comments on board.

Situated in Bairnsdale, Mr. D Food & Coffee is conveniently located on the bustling corner of Main and Service streets.
The food was very nice. Well seasoned and tasty. Coffee was a bit mediocre. The staff were inexperienced and flustered. It felt as though they hadnât been adequately trained....they didnât seem to remember simple things like cutlery and it took several prompts to get things like our menus etc. I donât think we will be back. Whilst the food was good, the wait for it was long, service was poor and overall Iâd rate this experience as average.

Traditional bistro style meals with flair and originality.
We often have lunch here on our way to or going home from Lakes. Entrance, or just out for a day in Bairnsdale. We can honestly say we have never had a bad meal here! The food is reasonably priced and they always have specials. Try the tasting plate for two.... absolutely delicious! The staff are always warm, helpful and welcoming. The head chefs are EB and Tegan, the apprentice chefs Jacob and Bonnie. If you are really lucky you may be served by the delightful Stacey.Thank you very much for your excellent review and comments regarding our food and staff. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and great food. We look forward to your next visit. Kind Regards,

Humble country eating and drinking house set in an old bakery with an historic, wood fired Scotch Oven
Wow what a wonderful find in this small East Gippsland town. Service, ambience and of course the food was great! Husband had the Lamb shank, parmesan polenta, gremolata, roasted root vegetables. I had the Matured goat's cheese, spinach and caramelized onion tart, both superb! And what can i say about dessert, Ginger pudding, quince ice cream with brandy butter sauce, so good! Loved that it was set in an old bakery with the 100 year old oven on display. Hopefully we will get to experience this wonderful little gem again!

Oysters kilpatrick @ $21 for 1/2 dozen were passable. Crumbed, grilled scallops were lukewarm, very small and served on a very cold plate with a salad.. Mains were tasty but very expensive . We were seriously underwhelmed. We realise its a local having s go but thought it was very expensive.

Dined here on a Saturday night in a group of 6. Excellent location with good comfortable and inviting interiors. Staff very friendly and service was efficient. Excellent choice of fresh meals to choose from. Shared plates and individual meals available and very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.
