Fresh quality ingredients, careful preparation and nice service made for a very good meal. If you are visiting George Town don't let the exterior appearances deceive you (signage can be better), and give this place a go. Your taste buds will be rewarded.

At first glance this place looks just like any roadside cafe that you may drive straight past. Donât be fooled! This place is well worth a visit, excellent food and plenty of it at very reasonable prices and the staff are really friendly too.The menu is varied and will appeal to most tastes. We ate here on two consecutive nights whilst staying in Beauty Point and so pleased we did.

The Grove is a historical property that is no longer open to the public as a restaurant, except for pre-booked functions, but operates as a B&B.It offers 2 great self contained cottages. My husband & I have stayed in both & loved it each time. Check out their website www.thegrovetas.com

Turned up at 2.45 hoping to get a meal on a miserable for 4 and we werenât disappointed. Although the dining had finished the staff and chef made arrangements for us to be served. They made the entire menu available. The result was first class - generous servings - great steaks and topped off with a bottle of Tasmaniaâs best wine. Well done team - much appreciated.

We were staying at the York Cove Resort for one night and decided to eat in at the downstairs Cove Bar and Restaurant. The York Cove Resort is quite pricey and I was expecting the restaurant to be the same...but it was not. You can get a very good meal at this restaurant for $25...thatâs typical pub pricing, but the meals we had were infinitely better than pub food. I had the fish of the day and it was fabulously fresh and perfectly cooked. The batter on the fish was the lightest, most crispy batter I think Iâve ever had. The ambience of this place is also terrific...very contemporary with beautiful views over the Tamar River. The service was also friendly and efficient. The menu is quite limited but most people will find something they like. This place is not fine dining but it does represent really excellent value for money. Incidentally the wine pricing is pretty good too.

Saturday lunch. Warm welcome, pleasant view. Staff were friendly, laughing and attentive. Lots of people coming and going for meals but this did not seems to interrupt the pleasantness of the staff or dining experience. Service was prompt. Menu pricing was fair with fresh seafood, pork, chicken and steaks available. I wouldn't say the meals were counter meals, more bistro as the name of the place suggests, so don't expect a pub experience, it's way nicer than that. Would recommend the pea, spinach and chestnut soup as it was delicious. Small or large serve choices on quite a few meals. Desserts were also delicious.There were at least 3 dining areas plus outside dining. Also rooms for private functions. They offer afternoon tea services for 8 or more people. Something we will try in the future. The facilities were very clean and modern. Artwork was interesting. There is also plenty of parking and a beautiful setting for photos with the amazing view over the Tamar River. I highly recommend a visit to Riviera Hotel Bistro, am sure it will be on your list of favorite places to dine in Tassie.

Position,position, position! What a magic cafe. Great place to have brunch and relax in the ambience overlooking the blue sea. Food delicious, staff very accommodating and attentive. Only complaint was the coffee - 1/2 strength lattes were too strong and bitter tasting. Other than that cannot vault this unique cafe. The girls are very friendly and service swift, gets crowded and they cope admirably!! We will be back
