I'm writing this thinking this is the small group of shops (Takeaway food, small shop and bakery) just south of the tavern. If this is the place then you should be ashamed of your self. Apart from carrying the barest of stock, the ladies running the takeaway and the small food shop would have to be the rudest people we have ever had the displeasure of meeting

Recent visit to the Starfish cafe was perfect. Great coffee, high quality food and genuine service was a real treat. Add to this the fact the cafe is only a couple of steps from the amazing South beach and a beautiful after breakfast swim was possible. Great location, great service, great hospitality. Well worth a visit.

Dongara Hotel

Reviewed By Megan H

My elderly mum and I have been doing a travel around the country side looking at family history and wildflowers. Our last destination being Dongara and catching up with a family friend. The 3 of us went and had a wonderful meal at the Hotel last night of the Salmon and Barramundi. I have to say my Barramundi was cooked beautifully and I haven't had such a nice piece of it since going to Margaret River. Totally recommend a meal here, tasty, good quality, good quantity meals

We visited the Seaspray Beach Cafe for the first time on a Friday night for their seafood dinner. There was a variety of food and it was exceptional. Great fish and prawns, salad was very fresh. The service was friendly. We will definitely be returning when in Dongara and wish we could go weekly.

Dropped in here to check out the Illegal Rum Co. Decided to have a snack and a coffee. We asked for a coffee with strength. It was extremely weak and milky and lukewarm at best. The excuse given was that it was Australian grown coffee. Crap. The food was good however but it was a touch pricey.Hi William We have actually have been waiting for your review.I've had a chat to my team about your complaint and they remember you well, for the wrong reasons. Your coffee order had a double shot of coffee already as you had requested a "strong" coffee. You put in your review that it wasn't strong enough, but my team offered to put another shot of coffee in your order, You declined, then you were very vocal in complaining that ALL WA coffees are weak, which leads me to believe you either own a coffee roasting business, or you have complained your way around the state about WA coffee in general. My team then went back to assist you a second time with your issue as you were making other patrons uncomfortable, and asked if you would like a refund, you declined that as well. Not once on the two occasions that they went to your table did you mention it was to milky. I've checked all this through our CCTV as we take reviews such as this pretty seriously, frankly for those reading along at home, you just can't satisfy some people. But its funny how you've left your language and our remedy for your issue out of your review, none the less we are happy to respond with your actual antics on the day. In regards to your food comment, I'll pass that comment on to the farmer that grows the beef, the fisherman that catches the fish, the cheesemaker, the dairy farmer, as well as any other producers we come across to promote locally grown and sourced food and see if they can make their prices less so we can charge you less.We suggest that if you want cheap junk you head to one of 3 friendly servos!
