We waited 1 hour for our mains after which our plates sat on our table for ages before cleared. It was mediocre for the prices thatâs asked, ordinary for the price and service

A delightfully situated restaurant which serves amazingly excellent food. The chef/owner is French and his menu offers several tapas dishes and half a dozen each of entrees and mains. The oysters are only offered if they are of acceptable quality and the breads are great. The chefâs wife waits at tables with a wonderfully friendly and helpful manner and she knows the wines expertly. This place is an absolute gem.

Super quick visit for an after dinner night cap. Really busy and popular hotel with beautiful relaxed decor. As weâd already eaten we were only planning a quiet drink before going back to our hotel ... the dishes being served at surrounding tables looked spectacular. The wine list was very impressive and I was very happy to see a favourite vineyard from a trip to orange (angullong) had multiple offerings. The shared dessert of sticky date pudding was the best weâve ever had

A real great find. Very friendly staff (many thanks to Mary for looking after us!) and the food was really, really nice! The Ham Shank was (according to the boss) absolutely gorgeous! I had the Chicken Parm and the big fella had the Chill Prawn Spaghetti, all were top notch! You won't go far wrong here!

Yep... we needed a flag to tackle this amazing mountain of food.Eggs Benny, Smashed Avo and Zucchini Fritters were our poison of choice. The fritters were deep fried and a little brown but very tasty. My eggs Benny was bloody awesome. Yep, worth a visit. Take your spare tummy!

Open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 5.30pm
I always have difficulty choosing from the menu but usually something will jump out and grab me but not at Sandpipers. The menu was so varied and everything sounded so delicious I just could not decide. We ended up sharing a couple of entrees that were stunning. The crab arancini was delicate and deliciously yummy and the Aloo Chop was sensational. It tasted just like a samosa but without the heavy pastry just breadcrumbs. Total opposites of each other. My partner had tagliatelle with lobster in a tomato sauce with a little chilli on the side. He said it was awesome. I opted for the barramundi and salad which was cooked perfectly. There were so many different things to choose from. The staff were all very attentive and friendly and the bill very reasonable. Definitely recommend this restaurant and will certainly be back to try some other dishes

As part of The Anchorage Resort, this delightful restaurant has an excellent location with beautiful views over Port Stephens. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the food...divine. We enjoyed both seafood and steak dishes that were beautifully prepared. And the dessert tasting plate was a fitting finale! My only negative was that some of the serving sizes could have been a little more generous.
