We stopped by for a takeaway coffee on our drive back from the south coast and the cakes looked so good we bought a brownie and a slice of cinnamon tea cake as well. Knowing that we were eating the slice and cake in the car, they put each in its own takeaway container with a generous dollop of cream and a sturdy plastic spoon so that we wouldn't make a mess - very thoughtful! While I was waiting I browsed the collection of secondhand books and eyed off the comfy lounge, deciding that next time we'll spend the few extra minutes and enjoy the coffee in the cafe, rather than taking it away. I'd definitely recommend stopping in here next time you are in Braidwood.

Had lunch there with several others. THe home made pies were excellent as were the other meals. Service was prompt and staff very friendly. A quirky little place with a quiet and clean outdoor area. THe mismatched tables and chairs only added to the great atmosphere.

The Braidwood Hotel has been licensed and operating since 1859. It has a colourful history, featured in the movie 'The Year My Voice Broke' and Mick Jagger drank here during the filming of 'Ned Kelly'. The building is a unique Georgian style Hotel with op
We had intended to eat at the âPaydirt Eateryâ being the top TripAdvisor rated dinner venue in Braidwood, but after failed efforts to locate, we rang and discovered they have closed (30 March 2019) and are relocating, date to be announced. This alternative was serendipity. A beautiful 1859 hotel being carefully/tastefully renovated/rescued! Keep expectations under control and you may be pleasantly surprised, as it is a work in progress. Staff were friendly, meals tasty and well prepared. Plenty of eating spots to chose from so you could retreat or join in as you preferred. Locals behind the bar added to the ambience. I can imagine the money being eaten by this renovation. Definitely a labour of love but a very worthy project.

Small family owned cafe / restaurant in Braidwood NSW. Baking all our Bread and growing our own produce.
It was such a relief to find such a great venue that wasnât serving meat pies and stodgy food. Itâs licensed which is always a bonus. If you like sweet things then the buttermilk waffle will hit all the right taste buds. Iâm always frozen to the marrow in Braidwood but today, out of the WIND, it was quite lovely especially in Casanova! Charming building and garden courtyard area.

Good service, cosy room, good menu options, good food at reasonable price. If you're looking for a nice place to stop between Canberra and the coast, look no further!
