We visited Tommy Ruff yesterday for a late lunch. Such a great range on the menu, with meal options to choose chips, rice or salad or the whole mix. Friendly service as soon as you enter until you get your final goodbye/have a good day as you leave. We had the mussels, and a salmon meal and it was delicious. They cooked my salmon well done - so I was pretty happy. Couldnât fault a thing!Highly recommend and canât wait to return sometime soon.

Restaurant nicely decked out, plenty of space between tables.Service was reasonable. We ordered three entrees, one, textures of beetroot with ricotta and walnuts, there wasn't much on the plate and the course was pronounced"underwhelming!"Unfortunately the other two entrees of Calamari were overcooked and thus tough and chewy. There was a bit of a wait between the entrees and main courses but the two serves of barramundi when they came were fine.Ten dollars corkage I thought was a bit steep.

After a lot of hype about this place we have tried it a few times and have been disappointed over and over. Overall the food is good, but the chips are always soggy and taste old. The service is non existent, no please or thank you anywhere in sight. They do not take credit cards and there is no visible signage so it becomes a problem for clients and embarrassing. When I was holding my card to pay with a shop full of customers, I was promptly told, "NO Cards" The staff are obviously over worked and need a refresher course in manners. After all without the paying clients they would not have a job. Apart from that if you can stand the lack of service, food is acceptable.

An option for those seeking a water view, surrounded by boats, enjoying good food, in a new Club style atmospherse
What an awesome spot for lunch or sunset and dinner. Overlooking the beach, the sea and the yachts, this is a great spot for sundowners and the food is good. Service is quick, even when it is busy. Great benue for birthday parties/ events. Unfortunately this restaurant is only open to members (and their guests).

If you blink while driving down Weatherall Rd in Beaumaris/Cheltenham then you'll miss out on a great experience. This little cafe/restaurant/milkbar is well worth eating at. I went here with my parents for a quick lunch. The place was very friendly & accommodating, we hadn't book just popped in. Sitting outside on the terrace, under age old trees, overlooking the golf course. The service was swift but not rushing us, attention to detail done well with the temperature of drinks and food. A good variety of food and drinks to suite all dietary requirements.I would recommend this little gem and we are going to return for breakfast next time.

I know, the name is incredibly basic, but the food is good. It is listed on Urban Spoon website and in the Australia Good Food Guide (AGFG) which is a very popular foody magazine. Black Rock is a southern suburb of Melbourne.
Some of the best presented food in Melbourne and it tastes as good as it looks. There were lots of things on the menu that looked delicious and I had food envy of lots of meals going out. The only reason it wasnât a 5 is that it gets crowded and noisy inside.

This place is a great cafe, has awesome coffee and lots of seating and space. This place was on the way through whilst I was visiting a few places across Melbourne and was recommended to me. If youâre in the area this is def the best choice. Quick service too.

This has to be Melbourne's best Sunday lunch venue. Absolutely superb sea-food, service and atmosphere. The staff are so welcoming with attention to match. Food is to die for! Value for money unbeatable. We were looked after by Jordan who excelled with the right advice on food to order and friendly service. We went as a group of 6 for the 2nd lunch sitting and were the last to leave because we did not want to go! I highly recommend this venue. I'll be back very soon.Wow, Thanks Mel for that wonderful review, we are glad we are still providing not only great service but food after nearly 33 years in the business. I will pass on your feedback to Jordan on your behalf. LC

Heard great things, loved the idea of a good seafood place with a thought of also having good dessert to finish......soufflé......so excited! Venue was great, small but quirky. Saturday night dinner really looking forward to catching up with friends for good night. Sever came and gave us menu, took drink orders.......server came back after 15mns to talk about specials......saw the dessert specials on menu board at top of stairs.....soufflé of the day.....yum......beers came....beers almost finished....cocktail and a lemon lime and bitters never arrived, caught servers attention.....reminded her of missing cocktail and lemon lime and bitters, she went away came back and told us that particular cocktail not available as they had run out of lemoncello, ok......looked at menu ordered different cocktail......ordered entrees and mains .......bottle of wine ordered........10mns wine arrived.....10mns entrees arrived.......asked for cocktail and lemon lime and bitters different server.......ate entrees........very good by the way......finally cocktail and lemon lime and bitters arrived..... tasted like normal lemon lime and bitters nothing special...hmmm...seems person at bar was too busy I guess it must be hard to make ....how much lemon, lime or bitters? Mains arrived we ordered seafood platter, male server fantastic explanation of platter once again very nice and would recommend.....time for dessert.....asked for menu.....10 mns to study the menu but we were set on that soufflé on the todayâs special board..... 10mns caught the servers attention, ordered three souffles......sorry we have no soufflé.....but itâs on your specials board, why didnât you tell us it was not for consideration when you brought our dessert menu?? Was it sold out? No idea? Disappointment.....didnât dare order coffee as it was from the bar....was concerned she may have been too busy to make coffee! Recommend the food very nice......service, thatâs a different story all down to one server and a very busy bar tender .....is waiting an hour for a cocktails and a soft drink reasonable? I donât think so.........why was soufflé still on the todayâs special board??
