I had never taken so much time to order my food in the past. But the lady working at the hotel was so patient to go through the menu with me. Inspired by Ancient Tea Horse Road, the menu items are classified into regional categories such as Sichun and India. The quality of food is superb and the restaurant is beautifully decorated with flowers.Dear valuable guest,We have all the time to serve our guests, so no problem, we are happy when you are happy. Thank you for your great review.Welcome to Arro Khampa Lijiang Restaurant again and I hope you can also stay in our Arro Khampa Lijiang Hotel.Cheers,Ricky
At Chinese Restaurant at Jinmao Hotel Lijiang enjoy a superb menu designed around Yunnanâs rich and diverse cultural history. Drawing inspiration from the local ethnic minorities, the menu offers a unique and authentic experience of Yunnan cuisine. Chines
Amazing dinner at this Grand Hyatt restaurant. Our group of 12+ got a private room overlooking the tea house and pond. Snow mountain in the backdrop. We ordered over a dozen dishes that were both nicely presented and delicious. Favorite dishes include the tempeh fried beans, shrimp with puer tea, ham, fish in a spicy red sauce. It was all outstanding. They have a good wine list but disappointed to fine only one Chinese wine. Everything else from Australia, Chile, France, Italy, Spain, and a few from US. Desert was a plate of deliciously ripe food.

This is a charming little courtyard restaurant with an extensive menu (in English). Most importantly the food is delicious and served with a generosity of spirit that made us feel very welcome. I was particularly thrilled with the wide choice of vegetarian options. Jenny the owner is charming and we enjoyed speaking to her and her and her teamâs hospitality. We are only sorry it was our last night otherwise we would have gone back for more!

The Blue Papaya has 2 address. One is for their guesthouse & cultural activities but the one I want to list is their restaurant branch in Lijiang old town.
We ate at this restaurant with our guide and meal was average. We went back by ourselves. Everyone had not pots. We asked the table next to us which hot pot they had, and even thou they had no English and we have no mandarin they showed us on the menu which dish they had. We ordered the same hot pot, which was a beef hotspot. The meat in our hotpot looked nothing like any of the other hot pots that was being served to the asians sitting around us. Our meat was all grissly. We could not eat the meat at all. We had to ask for our greens. We ordered rice, which was not brought out and we had to ask for our rice again. We felt that we were served a very poor meal because we were westeners. Would not recommend this restaurant.
Thanks to Trip Advisor, we knew where to eat well and enjoyed a great dinner. Would have never gone otherwise since the decor is modern simple (not romantic, more for lunch than dinner). There was apparently a 30-minute wait and people were sitting outside, my puppy eyes got us in much faster!Fantastic copper casserole with fish, pork ribs with melted mozzarella (I was really looking for cheese and replacing the bread by ribs was fun), wild vegetables, cauliflower in a hot pot, fried Naxi noddles. Every thing was good, not too oily, with excellent attentive service and enough phone application dexterity to translate when needed. Really easy to find, just south of wuyi street, facing big murals.

Overall the food was pretty oily - I actually thought that it is rated as one of the best (on a Chinese app) in Lijiang because of the domestic tourism where people are accustomed to the taste slightly better. However it was not inedible - but I had better food around old town.

Les Petites Ecuries Yunnan Gastronomic Restaurant was built at the ancient site of Muâs Palace guest house stable. All the ingredients were sourced from local farms. We offer gourmet set menu at the restaurant, from appetizer, to soup, to main dish, to des
The decorations of the restaurant are superb, and every dish looks so great! I and some friends of mine tried 3 dishes but the food disappointed us for a bit, maybe we expected too much for the food. Anyway, if you care about the environment more than the food itself, this might be a good choice.Dear Terry,Thanks very much for your review and your stay at our restaurant. At Les Petites Ecuries we source all our food ingredients from either our employees home or local farmers, and we work independantly from the mass production and supply industry. There is no MSG or no chicken powder, not any additive added in any of our food, most of our vegetables are seasonal and organic (so sometimes, in limited quantity), and all is freshly prepared just before serving it to you.Yunnan is one of the world richest region in term of fauna and flora, so is the diversity of cuisines and tastes. At Les Petites Ecuries we are not pretending any creativity in term of gastronomy, but we are trying to concentrate Yunnan most representatives ingredients and flavors into one cuisine, and we are aware that working without MSG might disapoint some of our clients. Thanks again for your support and taking time to review us. We wish to see you again in Lijiang and at Les Petites Ecuries with a different eye.Romain

Weâre a bunch of serious foodies committed to serve only the most indigenous, delicious and sustainable Yunnan foods. We compose, we design, we conceptualize, but itâs all about food. Come and enjoy a bite of terroir as the French usually say.
A very good spot, but weirdly managed. We came twice, on the first time they were out of potato chips (the only side on the menu) by 8.30pm, and we had to wait 20mn for the rice crepe thingy (the main item in the menu). On the second day they had potato chips, but the wait time for the rice crepes was 30+ minutes.Apart from that it is very good, if you have time I definitely recommend it.

Foods were super tasty! The taste was quite different from other restuarants in Lijiang. They served in proper portion with very reasonable price. Menu was available in English plus photos. We also ordered local Plum wine which smell and tastw were good. They served wine with peanut for free. Services was 5 stars! All waiters tried to communicate with us even they dont speak a lot English. Don't miss it! If you don't want to regret!

V.sherry restaurant is a Yunnan style restaurant. We have two restaurants in Xingwen alley Lijiang old town. Local food, fish, wild mushroom, plum wine, ricenoodles, steamed chilcken soup yunnan style,Yak meat. Many national culture.
We enjoyed the food we ate here. Lots of local dishes, like the rice cakes, bread and the duck was yummy- they asked us about spice tolerance which was good as we can't do food that's too spicy! They have an English/ photo menu so it was easy to order. We really wanted to try the mango rolls but were too full from the other dishes we had ordered! We were a bit put off by the staff practicing their English behind us and giggling a lot. Being a bit more discreet would have helped us enjoy the experience more.
