Relax and enjoy authentic Thai cuisine in this 300 year old historic Tudor building in Colchester. Although the building has been modernised, it still retains every aspect of its uniqueness and heritage. Our Head Chef, Triphop Thongkraing, was raised and
I took my business associates to Naka Thai on Saturday. First impression, the restaurant was clean with a very beautiful water feature in the middle of the restaurant. The food was very authentic especially the Pad Thai. They did the best Pad Thai even comparing to those in Thailand. Their jungle curry was also on par with those in Thailand. The service was a little bit slow especially when we ordered their Thai cocktails, due to the popularity and their busyness in the restaurant. However, the staff came to the table and let us know while we waiting for those cocktails. All in all, it was a very good experience with a very good Thai cocktails and very authentic food.

A small but well decorated restaurant with a super varied menu. Love the explanation of the dishes especially as Iâm not familiar with all the dishes. I went for the four dish menu and it was amazing. So filling, fresh, colourful and tasty! I enjoyed every mouthful. Clearly the food is fresh as itâs not out in minutes and I didnât feel bloated afterwards so clearly good products. Thank you - see you soon

The food here was delicious! I absolutely loved the sushi and the menu was rather varied. Itâs good for money and I kept wanting more, the crab sushi was just amazing! There is an interesting Japanese drink (soda) and it is delicious. The wine, not that good but I didnât expect much from this restaurant. Itâs rather hidden but if you have the time step in and enter Japan! Definitely recommend!

we visited the Britannia restaurant for a mothers day meal, and we weren't disappointed. It Is run by 3 ex-Gurkha's who are all very friendlyThey serve up a fix menu, which consists of:- poppadom, then a starter of Bombay potato's with a samosa, spring role or Bhaji. The main course consists on a Chicken curry, Vegetable curry, another meat curry (we had Goat) lentil Dhal, rice and Naan bread. If you finish any of these they are quite happy to supply more (all in the price), then there is a desert. This is great value for money and the food is wonderful. Will definitely be returning.

Wow, what a superb dining experience this was, and now I can fully understand why this establishment has received such rave reviews. Where to start? Firstly, the ambience and 'buzzy' atmosphere of the restaurant set exactly the right tone from the outset. Follow that with helpful friendly and attentive service and you're most certainly on the right track. As for the standard of the food, it was simply stunning, both my wife and I found it faultless. Given that this was our first Vietnamese food experience, we took some advice from our fantastic waitress and she got it spot on, with both our starters and mains being absolutely 'on point' - absolutely delicious. When I thought things could not get any better, having discovered it was my Birthday, I was presented with a delicious slice of chocolate cake by 3 members of staff who also proceeded to sing Happy Birthday!!Thank you Bambu, for a great evening, incredible value for money and and a truly wonderful dining experience. Can't wait to return.
