We visited the Black Bear Japanese Fusion for the second time on Saturday night. First time just hubby and me, this time with another couple. It was great to be able to book using Open Table. The small and simple restaurant was packed on both occasions and was noisy and filled with laughter, but not enough so that we couldnât have a conversation. There are so many delicious items on the menu itâs hard to choose. One can be adventurous and pick something totally foreign to eat, or if you are more conventional you can get a regular burger and fries or a salad. Our friends both opted for a shrimp burger served with mango salsa and a side salad. They thoroughly enjoyed their choice. My husband ordered spaghetti with teriyaki steak and a tomato sauce, and I decided to be brave and ordered Kimchi Sukiyaki beef udon and I had no idea what to expect. My husband was happy with his choice and I am still raving about my pick. The soup was spicy and so flavourful, filled with mushrooms and meat and noodles and it was served in a huge bowl. Service was quick and friendly and prices reasonable. Their drinks menu had some interesting cold beverages like fresh lime or lemon soda, mock-tails and more. Desserts sounded decadent but we were too stuffed to sample. Definitely one of the nicest places we have discovered in a long time. Plenty of free parking too. We will be going back soon.

Unbelievably disgusted by their false advertisement - Stouffville thai one under new management. When I had called to order for pick up, the owner had mentioned their discounted deals on website are not valid under the new management. But, He offered me a special rate of discount . And he suggested to give more discounts when I reached the store for my meals. Since he offered a discount, I orderd more items. But When I got there, he did not live up to his promise!I was very insulted and disappointed by his dirty tactic and false advertising just to get me to purchase more food items. Not to mention, the food tasted extremely horrible! Beef was burned to point where they covered it with breadcrumbs cover it and fried on top of that with excess of ketchup! The chicken and beef tasted the same. We dumped 90% of the food. Overall, below avg food+false strategy= lost a valuable customer and potential customers! Thank you.

Tried this for lunch today. I love thai food. Honestly, my lunch was lacking. Could have used more of everything- except rice noodles. It needed more sauce, more meat, more egg, more peanuts, more bean sprouts....The sweet and sour soup was one of the worst I've had. Tasteless. The spring roll was acceptable.I'm not sure if I'll be back. Definitely some improvements to be made.

Thought we would give this place a try. Positives: -food was ready when they said it would be-chicken fried rice was ok, but spare on the chicken and veggies. Mostly rice. - wonton with meat, filling was good. -was not greasyNegatives:-Chicken balls very very small amount of chicken mostly dough-standard sweet and sour sauce is the usual red goo-spring rolls were horrible no filling-egg roll mediocre not much fillingOverall theme is spare on the ingredients, use more filler. Mediocre to say the least. Donât know if we will try it again.

Stouffville doesn't have many authentic asian restaurants so we were pleasantly surprised by our experience at Pho Basil. We dropped in for a late lunch last week and were the only ones in the restaurant. We ordered the rare beef and brisket pho soup and the pork vermicelli with spring roll. Both were good...portions were generous, service was friendly and prices were very reasonable. The only thing I would say is that both dishes came highly salted which we like but others may not. What I especially liked was how hot the dishes were (temperature wise). We were told they have only been there a year. I hope they are successful as it's a longer drive into Markham for Vietnamese food and we have always liked spending locally where we can. We look forward to trying other dishes.
We had only tried takeout here so decided to dine in. The restaurant is new, sparkling clean and cozy. You will be amazed by the vast number of menu options. Malaysian, Thai, Indian, Hakka, Chinese and even Mongolian. Every dish we tried was wonderful. Bring some take home containers as the portions are generous. They have containers but we always bring our own to reduce plastic.

The place to go for plentiful great tasting Japanese food. All you can eat is a super value. Attentive quick staff. Choose your next selection from a tablet that not only describes your selection but gives you a picture as well. Finish off with a very tasty rice tea and green tea ice cream.
