Visited at lunch time last week with a friend. There are lots of types of food and restaurants. The have pizza, Italian, Japanese, seafood, and the infamous Ample Hills ice cream. This is a must if you are visiting! There is plenty of seating. This is a great place to visit if you want to try a bunch of different things. The tight quarters and sometimes long wait times are well worth it for some of the silkiest, most decadent ramen (chicken based) broth that your Grandma wishes she could make, along with some of the best ramen noodles in the City. Their rich, slow cooked and creamy chicken broth is second to none, and comes with a delicious, wavy golden noodle, and topped off with either crispy chicken breast and confit chicken thighs or, pulled chashu pork and tender pork belly chunks - along with scallions and sweet raw chopped onions. Make sure that you add their specialty boiled egg, slow cooked in Japanese rice vinegar for a flavor bomb experience and Totto's proprietary chili oil with garlic, onion, shrimp and scallops) -- all the flavors blend together amazingly well - and the oil adds a kick you wonât find anywhere else.

We visited Japan last year and the Izakaya Mew makes us feel like we were not in the middle of Manhattan but somewhere in Japan with very tasty food and good prices. A hidden gem that is between other asian restaurants and you have to go downstairs so donât missed it. We try sushi, ramen and noddles and steak and rice. Everything very tasty!!!

This is a new Gyu-Kaku restaurant in New York city, in addition to the ones in the East Village and Mid-Town that you already have listed.
Walked across to the street opposite my hotel (IHG), we saw Gyu-kaku. Itâs a known restaurant in my country and has tried before back home. But wanted to give it a try in New York to see if they serve the same food. The menu is different. Waited for about 20 minutes before we were seated. We had BBQ and some dishes. The food tasted good. BBQ portion can be quite small if you order from the ala-carte menu. They have set meals too. Overall experience was good as we went back again a week later.

My wife and I had a 8:00 pm show on Broadway, so had a 6:00 pm reservation. We were seated immediately, but it's a small place and filled up soon. We split the Fire Korean Chicken Wings and the Bacon Wet Kimchi Fried Rice. The wings were a good size and had a wonderful spicy coating. The Fried Rice bowl was good, but didn't impress us as it did some previous reviewers. It was a bright, clean and relaxed atmosphere. You do sit at high communal like tables, but that worked out okay. It was a good experience.

Uptown, where everything is glitzy and expensive, this place stands out. It's tiny and it's noisy. It's also excellent. No frills, not too pricey, and outstanding sushi. It's as good as anything in Manhattan, yet affordable and delicious. It's like you are surrounded by normal people just enjoying a good meal at reasonable prices. Good sake menu also. Great choice in this part of town

We were looking for decent food outside our hotel and all we could find were fast food outlets and Irish style pubs. He fell upon this restaurant and then discovered it was Vegan. No matter. We cannot now remember what was in the dumplings but they stand out as being really delicious. the aubergine for a main course was good, my own pasta dish contained a huge amount of pasta and a coating sauce which was alright but not outstanding. The service was very pleasant and efficient. Two courses and a bottle of wine cost us just over £82.Thank you for taking the time to give us some stars. We always try to reach for the stars. We want to aim higher. We have taken your comments to our team and hope to give you a better experience in the future.

Once again, it didn't disappoint! I absolutely love this place. I really like that the staff welcomes everyone that walks through the door. This is by far the best Japanese food I've had outside Japan. The pork belly buns are my favorite bite anywhere in NYC. The ramen are also delicious with fresh ingredients. I absolutely recommend not passing on this amazing little gem!

3 adults found this fantastic Thai restaurant just around the corner from 9th avenue and what a lovely change of pace. The restaurant is small but extremely busy, mainly because of the service and the quality of food. It was so nice to get away from the hectic streets of NYC and would definitely go there again if we ever get back to New York City.
