Reviews on Asian food in Vientiane, Vientiane Prefecture, Laos. Vientiane is the capital and largest city in Laos. Located on the banks of the Mekong River, Vientiane is a city steeped in legend and history. The city is the home of the massive gilded stupa, Pha That Luang, a national symbol of Laos. The streets are lined with trees, French colonial buildings, street markets, Buddhist temples, and noodle shops. Just outside the city is Buddha Park, a garden littered with over 200 cement sculptures depicting the gods and monsters of Buddhist and Hindu myth.

I went today to this restaurant and ordered beer and India food veg pakora. This place is first look like any village third grade hut and people are trained as if they do obligation to guest come there . It has no link to Indian food which should be fresh and made from true Indian ingredients. For pakora he used rice floor and fried may be very bad oil so taste come out is horrible . We order then peanut masala which should be just onion tomato and some spices with lemon but they prepared with cream and some sweats . Itâs insult to name of India . I would recommend people donât go .

Kualao is not just a paragon of Vientiane hospitality, but is also a charming example of French colonial architecture and a treasury of the finest, authentic Lao cuisine. --------- Kualao Restaurant is Vientiane's most popular, internationally recognize
Six of us were on a Wendy Wu tour and this was part of the itinerary. Very nice setting, friendly and attentive staff, fixed menu which was excellent. Great entertainment

Opposite the KP Hotel near the National Cultural Hall. Open from 11am to 10pm everyday.
Great little find. Food is fantastic and reasonably cheap. Lots to chose from and they cater for the tastes of tourists e.g. less spicy. Definitely worth a visit or two when in Vientiane.

I was in Vientiane between 12 February and 16 February. My hotel recommended this restaurant when I asked for Indian food. I was so happy that I went there for 3 dinners. With an experienced chef, I had different dishes and they were cooked the way I wanted the same cooked. Spicy, light gravy, no tomatoes and no milk or yogurt. The owner, Bhavin, took care of me and he understands his customers. The only thing negative about their service is if things get busy, service is slow. I spoke to the owner and he is aware. Please do not miss a visit and say hello to the owner, Bhavin

The menu looks as if it changes daily, with the exception of a few staples. We chose chicken with ginger and black pepper (hot but tasty), homemade pork and herb sausages with a delicious chilli and tomato chutney and black rice. The iced mint and lemon tea was super refreshing and helped to cool the effect of the ginger, as did the amazing roast banana ice cream. Highly recommend this! Wonderful service too - didnât fancy an hour-long walk back to our Airbnb, and didnât see any taxis/tuk tuks on our walk here, so they ordered us a taxi!

Kungâs Cafe tucked away in a quiet residential area was a nice spot for lunch. The menu has reasonably priced Lao dishes including pad lao (Lao version of pad thai) and baguette sandwiches. The nicely decorated shaded leafy outdoor dining area sets it apart.

PVO Vietnames Food is probably my favorite restaurant in the city for its excellent and reasonably priced Vietnamese food. I was relieved that I ordered the half size banh mi sandwich as the portions are humongous. The quality of the spring rolls and noodles are top notch here and itâs not surprisingly the place is constantly busy with locals and tourists alike. Servers can be a bit impatient but they make it up with efficiency.

Please note that if you are coming to my restaurant that the map on trip advisor is incorrect we are actually very close to Bang Long Vietnamese Temple.
Very good food despite the decrepit rear section. The place is busy, the toilets clean. It seems to have a large long tiles section and a separate backpackers section which was authentically Pakistani shack. The curries are great, salads good. Raita excellent. Samosas had a little too much potato. A good meal anyway.

After meeting up with some travellers I met at the hostel I am staying at, we decided to go and try Noyâs Fruit Heaven. It was a very good experience. The food was cheap and very tasty and they do an awesome fruit Smoothie! The fruit was fresh, juicy and sweet. The portions could have been a little bigger but other than that I was very pleased. Staff are also very nice.

Offering a unique breakfast, lunch and dining experience for locals, expats and visitors alike. The best of traditional Indian, Malaysian & fusion cuisines.
This place was recommended by a number of people. However I found it disappointing. Nice atmosphere and spacious restaurant - minimalist decor but the food for me was pretty average. I had masala dosa and certainly would not go there again for this. Staff were just a little too "cool" - I guess this place really didn't do much for me.Dear dharmapitt,We're terribly sorry to hear about your experience. We apologize and thank you for bringing this to our attention. Good food and good service are very important to us and this is not how we would like any of our customers to feel. We've already met with our staff member regarding the 'cool' attitude that you mentioned and they've promised to keep themselves in check. Again we apologize, for the inconvenienced caused. And we truly hope that you'd give us another chance and hopefully continue to dine at Flavours & Spices. Sincerely,Catherine Younesi Owner
