Maybe like another reviewer noted, it is hit or miss. When we were there miso soup, sushi, hibachi beef dish were not particularly good, and prices were a little high. Staff not friendly.
IP is the only really good Chinese restaurant left in Slidell. There is no comparison between IP andand the others. They use fresh veggies and the meat is high quality. Chef Adrian is fantastic. He serves up huge portions and will even visit your table to check on your dining experience. Our go to Chinese restaurant!
I've always heard good things about the Pho House but just couldn't get myself excited about "noodles". Well as they say, don't judge a book by its cover! Pho House does not disappoint when it comes to clean crisp flavors. Each offering is well prepared and portion sizes won't leave you hungry, but you might want more. The menu is limited but what they offer hits the mark. And yes, they serve more than just "Noodles".

After checking out a typical restaurant with its heavily fried and cheese-laden options, I stumbled on this unassuming restaurant, and I arrived before the hoards of locals began to come in, so it's clearly a local favorite. Yes, the spring rolls were very tasty, refreshing with their interior filled with light greens--I had the shrimp rolls (hoping the shrimp were all local and not frozen, imported from Thailand). Vietnamese are so attuned to using only fresh ingredients, it's always a pleasure to eat at their restaurants. The peanut sauce was mildly spicy, and the pho had a wonderful beef aroma. Since I can rarely eat the whole amount of a meal, I took the remnants as takeout and had a nice breakfast the following day. My waiter didn't speak much English, but made up for it with a smile, and his manager made sure everything was as ordered. If you're on the way to the Eco Swamp tour, this is along the way, and the best option in my opinion.

Start with the good - I ordered the Bento dinner box with Chicken Teriyaki and Sushi. You start with the typical miso soup and green leaf salad with ginger dressing - both were good, although the salad was very wet (not from the dressing but from moisture). The bento box is a GREAT deal - you choose two items to go with the seaweed salad, California roll, white or fried rice (fried $1 extra) and stuffed crab appetizers (2). Everything was very good - chicken was moist and flavorful but not drowning in the teriyaki sauce, the seaweed salad was very good, the stuffed crab things hot and very good as well. I liked the fried rice but am not used to and don't care for corn and green beans mixed in - I am used to seeing peas (which I don't like as well) and carrots but this had everything. The other thing that could have been better would be the onions under the chicken - they were not sweet onions, which I much prefer - and they needed to be cooked longer. The best part though was the sushi that came with the bento box was not the usual undesirable pieces of sushi - this came with two pieces of salmon, two pieces of tuna and one piece of white tuna - all were excellent. The price for this box is dirt cheap - I think $19, and frankly two people could have eaten it and been satisfied. So overall very good food. The service on the other hand was inconsistent. When I first walked in the host, some slacker named Andre, was far more interested in his phone than the restaurant. He really gave off an air of "I don't really want to be here." He came over a couple of times during my meal when I finished something and asked in a very strange way if he could take my empty plate - he was just very annoying and condescending. At one point the folks in the table behind me were talking with him and Andre was ripping on his boss... The waitress was a young girl who did not seem to know very much plus she messed up my order. I liked her a lot better though because at least she was not condescending!Overall I would return again but next time might choose to sit at the sushi bar to see if I can get less attitude from the people who work there; or I would get the food to go. Again, the food was well worth it and the value was phenomenal - but this place could be over the top with decent serviceSalud!

We stopped her mid afternoon on the way back from New Orleans, and even though it was 3 on a Monday, they had fresh food out. Sushi was pretty good, even if limited. Price wasn't bad either. Family of 4 under fifty bucks!

Got take out on 1/26 and had a couple of cocktails while waiting. Great Mai Tais and cold beer in frosted mugs. Once home, food was fantastic with big portions. Mandarian chicken, walnut shrimp and fried rice cannot be beat. Chili spice wings are a hit. Friendly Staff. Will be back soon.

Thai Dishes That Are Delicious! "Good Karma Food"
We had lunch in this restaurant. The place is quite small but the owner was very friendly. We had the Pad Pric and the Pad Kra Prow both with chicken. They were enjoyable. The access is a bit tight for a wheelchair as the door opens outward onto the path but it is manageable. We fixed the door issue. Our apologies and thank you for pointing it out!

Service is beyond outstanding, portions are generous, and the sushi is extremely tasty. The entire staff was friendly and eager to please and very accommodating.
I have seen this place in passing numerous times, but the outside is so un-appealing that I did not even consider eating here. Finally, one day I asked my daughter where she wanted to go for dinner and she mentioned this place. She said that a friend of hers just LOVES it ~ so, we decided to give it a try. The parking lot looked crowded, but upon entering, it wasn't too bad. We got seated immediately and gave our drink orders. The waitress that we had, was actually the owner. She explained that she originally had a restaurant on the Westbank but hurricane Katrina changed that. She moved to Slidell and opened up here. She said that she does very well and is happy being in Slidell. Very friendly.... Anyway, when going to a new restaurant, I like to ask the waitress what their most popular dish or dishes are so that I order what they make best! She recommended Yakisoba or Udon ~ noodles with shrimp, chicken and beef. It was $9.95, not expensive and I decided to take her advice. I ABSOULETLY LOVED IT!! And I even had some left to take home. My daughter got the American Dream Roll and said that it was pretty good, but she tried my dish and wished that she would have gotten what I ordered. Her friend ordered the Asparagus sushi rolls and Vegetable Sushi Rolls ~ she said that they were fine, but nothing fancy because they are simple rolls that really do not require special prep. I will defintely be returning... I hear that the lunch is less expensive (lunch time prices are good thru 3pm daily according to their take out menu. I am convinced that if this restaurant would change locations to a building that is more aesthetically pleasing, there would be a 2 hour wait to eat here ~ I'm certain that I am not the only one that was a little leery of eating here simply because the outside of building is so unattractive

We returned to Thai Orchid after a trip to Thailand. The flavors are authentic and the food is delicious. We enjoyed the Green Curry with Chicken and Panang Curry. The service was wonderful. Thai Orchid has what makes a restaurant successful, consistently fresh, delicious food and good service with reasonable prices.
