We meet with a smile, cook with love! Cafe "Promenade", common room, summer house, winter terrace
Atmosphere is modern and easy. May not for a romantic tête-à -Tête.Food was really good and nicely presented.
The menu items are slightly odd (a mix of chinese, korean, japanese & central asian), but its in english. Food is decent. They have beer on tap too, and accept credit cards. A solid choice if you're too tired to leave the hotel for a meal.

The atmosphere is comfortable with sofas and cushioned chairs with music playing softly in the background - quiet enough to have a conversation without raising your voice. We went early on the weekend and there were just a few tables busy. When we left the restaurant was almost full. The menu has choices from China, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand with some having a Western twist. For example, bean sprouts salads are very common in some Asian countries but adding salmon to these salads is not traditional. Thus, a fusion of sorts is created. The service was good. We ordered the Thai soup and my expectations were low considering this is Central Asia not SE Asia. Although it did not have the explosion of flavor that Thai food and this soup in particular are known for, it was better than expected and a pleasant version of the soup. The atmosphere is good for groups and couples.

Having read reviews I went here as a solo traveller looking for a bit of atmosphere. I sat outside and was ignored by the staff for so long that I nearly left; they were dealing with people at other tables. In the end a group at the table next to me helped and I ordered draft beer, salad and beshbarmak (local flat noodles with boiled beef etc.) it was good to try a local dish, although the beef was disappointingly dry and the poor service left a bad taste in my mouth.

Middle Asian, Uzbek national cuisine.
We had a fantastic dinner with friends at Kok-Saray in Shymkent last summer while trekking through Kazakhstan. The menu is distinctly Uzbek cuisine, all delicious menu items cooked to perfection, the service is top rated and very helpful and the price is a bit higher than the local average but you are paying a bit of a premium to get some of the best service, food and atmosphere in the city.

Breakfast at Kazakhasia in Shymkent is a delight. We enjoyed breakfast there on one of our morning while in the wonderful city. Excellent selection of foods for breakfast, the homemade jams are magnificent, everything is fresh and delicious and all very affordable. The only complaint was my brothers didnât like the coffee the day we were there, could have just been a bad pot or something but not enough to mar the rest of the positives about the place and our encounter.
