Where the taste of Thai is just around the corner!
Yes, the Thai couple running this place are sweet. But that doesn't make up for the food. I've reviewed over 100 Thai restaurants, and give Sopah an average rating. I had Pad Thai with tofu, and there wasn't any flavor to speak of, and the tofu was rubber-y and tough. Not enough sprouts or ground peanut, but at least there was a small lime slice. BYOB. Decor was OK, but the should really play some music to create an atmosphere. But this is the only Thai place around, so it beats driving half an hour or more.

This little secret is the areas most intimate place. The decor is superb, the food is great the ingredients are well selected, the menu is simply beautiful and the selection of beers is very unique. Even though I visited with family with young kids (and everything went smoothly) I would recommend this place for couples and business meetings mostly. The staff, friendly and experienced, the prices great for what you get and the Japanese/American taste is not the one you will taste at a usual neighborhood Japanese restaurant. This is one of my favorite places in Long island and, yes, I do recommend this place.

Was in Glen Cove early on Saturday night and saw this restaurant and decided to try it without a reservation. It has some hibachi tables and booths on the first floor and upstairs has just tables. We decided to eat hibachi with a birthday party if 11 year olds surrounding us. The service was excellent and very accommodating and the hibachi steak was very tender and seasoned nicely, as was the chicken. My only comment were the side sauces. Mayonnaise type Russian dressing instead of a mustard type sauce and their soy sauce that needed some flavor. Crunchy spicy tuna roll was spot on. Valet parking here and a bit more reasonable compared to a Benihana. It does have some Chinese and Thai dishes as well as traditional Japanese food. Definitely go back.

The Love Boat for 2 is huge, 20 pieces of sashimi, 10 pieces of sushi, 2 rolls, and soup/salad, and it's $49. The sushi is great, but there's no flexibility in the fish you get, as well as the choice of rolls. My girlfriend is more adventurous than me and consumed the mackerel sashimi, and felt it could have been better. Everything else was right on the spot, and for $49 it's a real value. However, it's only a value if you manage to eat most of what is served. I wasn't a fan of the rolls because they had fried eel, and I'm not the biggest fan of eel. If you choose to add another roll (to avoid eating eel) it would bump up the cost by $10. Even without eating the rolls, there was enough food to fill me up.PS - the size of the boat is so big it doesn't fit on a table for 2. If they are busy and can not seat you at a larger table, the Boat actually sticks off the table....

My friend took us to Peter Lugers last night for the delicious steak and awesome bacon. He told us that he will take us to a Japanese restaurant and I did not keep high hope to have a great meal to begin with. While we were at Manhattan touring around, he called and told us that the dinner has moved earlier to 6 pm (instead of 7 pm). Otherwise, we need to wait for 9 pm. Itâs located in a premium mall with LV, Prada, Gucci and other brand name stores nearby or next to it. By the time we got there, the restaurant is already fully packed. We let our friend ordered the food since he had been here many times. I was amazed the âreasonableâ price in the menu knowing the Long Island (especially this Premium mall) is an upscale price area.We were shocked again when we saw and tasted the foods. The name says all, itâs an modern Asian including all Asian foods such as Japanese, Chinese, Thailand,... However, all dishes we had are great in layout, color, fresh, and tasted so yummy. No wonder the business is so good. Strongly recommended to make a reservation before you come to try this hidden gem. You will be shocked and fully enjoyed all dishes.
